When you let the Cumans follow you to the village

I’d say that this has to be one of my proudest achievements for sure. I love hardcore mode, I’m surprised how only 0.03% of people have got this.

Ambush Black Peter before he ambushes you!

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 06:22 AM PDT

I'm not that far in the main story but i won my first tourney and then got ambush by Black Peter and i have BaI mod so armored enemies are harder to deal with,so i tried for half an hour to beat him but he killed me in like 5-7 hits so i ambushed him instead with an arrow to the face he died in 1 hit

    This mission is hilarious!!

Do you have any nuisances with this game that really annoy you when you think about it?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 07:45 AM PDT

I still haven't finished KCD. I started it so many times over the last years because I eventually stopped playing for one reason or another (usually not related to the game itself). But I always come back and try to finish it because I love this game so much. But there are days where certain small things just get under my skin and I pray to the Lord Jesus that Warhorse will improve it on the second game. Sorry for wall of text!

    • Bloodied weapons - I don't know if Warhorse ever explained this but I still think it's ridiculous that the "easy" (and only?) way to clean your weapon is on a freaking grindstone. I'd like to know how many knights, mercenaries, etc. did this in medieval times. This game throws so many bandages at you and we even have a "use on" feature, it's beyond me why they still haven't added this to the game and allow us to clean weapons with bandages. There is also things like random fabric that seem to be only useful for selling and nothing else. It's also baffling that we don't have the option to use WATER (any water you come across) to clean weapons. Yes, it would be a scumbag move to do it in troughs, but why not give us the option? Maybe people would get pissed if you are caught doing it? It's also pretty annoying that sharpening your weapon on a grindstone cleans it but if you sharpen it using a kit, suddenly it doesn't....
    • Dirty clothes - yes, I get it, Henry is constantly running around so he is more likely to get dirty than the average peasant working on the field (is he though?). But it's unrealistic when he takes a bath at Rattay and walks to the broken wheel inn and his helmet suddenly already has dirty spots on it. I'd understand if boots and pants would get some dirt on them for walking around on villages, but more than that is stupid. The other pieces of clothing and armor should only get dirty if you walk into the woods, otherwise it looks like Henry crawls through the roads instead of walking. Also, inner layers should not get affected by dirt as easily.
    • Bathing - similar to the first two actually. I don't know what Warhorse has against clean things. I highly doubt that the only way to get a bath in medieval times was to go to a bathhouse... any peasant could probably bathe as much as they wanted to at home, all they needed was a bucket of water and soap. Soap was not that hard to make and it's a thing that exists for ages. So why in the world can't soap be a thing that can be bought on stores and Henry can just go to a river to clean himself and his clothes? Heck, you don't even need soap to take the dirt off at the very least! To rely on bathhouses alone is annoying and not realistic at all.
    • Bathhouses - yep, the entirety of the bathhouse concept annoys me. Not only because it's the ONLY way to properly clean yourself and your clothes but also because of how "limiting" it is. If you want your clothes to be washed you have to have them equipped. There's no option to just choose the clothes you want washed, kind of like when you repair your stuff. I have to equip everything every single time and sometimes I have to take TWO baths because I have a set of armor and a set of normal clothes that need cleaning. Ugh.
    • Camping - many times I want to find a place to sleep to just go through the night and simply can't one unless I go to a nearby village. I mean, more often than not Henry sleeps on the floor on some leaves or straw and you tell me he can't just lay down on the grass in a field and sleep? There should definitely be an option to set a little camp in the woods. A skill if you will, where it's tied to a certain key. You choose a spot on the ground and it would take an hour for Henry to gather wood, branches and leaves and just make a little bed and fireplace.
    • Hunger and food - another thing that I think Warhorse failed at. Granted, the Hardcore mode changes this, but there's some things on hardcore that simply turn me off (I have a terrible sense of direction so it would just make me rage quit without markers and compass), so I have to keep to normal mode unfortunately. In normal Henry only seems to get hungry once a day, so I'm always carrying this food that I never use. It doesn't help that there's literally a pot of food in every corner, even in the middle of the woods, and people just don't mind you eating from them at all. I encountered a lady who was asking for coin to buy a piece of bread because she hadn't eaten in days and I was just laughing at this...
    • Sleep - You basically don't have to sleep ever if you drink a bunch of cockerel potions or even eat things like honey which gives you energy. Henry should get a debuff if he hasn't slept for more than 24 hours even if he keeps drinking potions. Sleep should be required. Again, this probably can be fixed with Hardcore, but I wish there was an option to adjust the hardness of the game. Pretty much like Pathfinder Kingmaker where you can choose your own difficulty settings and have a custom difficulty.
    • No children - I realize this is probably more of a budget thing than a choice, but the lack of children running around really hit me at times. Imagine all the kinds of quests you could get from kids, like missing parents, missing toys, kids who just want to play. I always remember The Witcher 3 and all the kids quests you get and they are adorable and often sad.
    • People are lazy - lol no but seriously.. is this a thing from medieval times? People would sleep until 9am? I always thought they would wake up at first light. So damn annoying having to burn precious daylight in order to wait for some lazyass people to wake up to have a word with them, or to go to a store.
    • Custom markers - I always imagined Henry had his own map and compass, so when he finds a place of interest he would mark it on his map. We can do markers and erase them but for some reason we can't make custom and more permanent ones? I came across a locked chest that was too hard for me and I had to take a screenshot of the place to remember later. The Witcher 3 comes to mind again with all the custom markers you can do with custom icons even.

Do you agree, disagree? Do you have other gripes with the game?

    Which DLC should I buy

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 07:44 AM PDT

I really love Kingdom Come, it is my favorite RPG by far. And as we're in this shitty quarantine, I thought I should try to play it a bit more.

I have already finished the game once, and have played it for almost 100 hours, and am thinking about buying the DLCs as they're 2.5$ here in Brazil now, and if I'm gonna buy them, today is the day.

I'd like to know which should I get. I'm thinking about not getting only the Prybslavitz one, as it doesn't seem as much fun as the others. Yet I'd prefer to get more opinions from you guys.

Tips and hints for new players

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 11:31 PM PDT

Let's put together some hints and tips for people who are new to KCD to reduce the chance of them getting frustrated with it. (MINOR SPOILERS) I'll start: - treat the game as much as you can like real life- try to make the decisions you would hope to make in real life - Combat can be daunting but does get easier. Again, like in real life. Combat against multiple enemies is super tricky - You are supposed to lose your first fist fight (you CAN win it, but don't need to) - If a priest tells you he cannot tell you something don't try to use speech, charisma or violence skills on him. If he asks you to have a drink with him, trust me, don't refuse. - Side quests are probably best done after the "Ginger in a pickle" quest - At some stage you will be asked to infiltrate a large enemy camp, scout it out and maybe do some sabotage. This quest seemed actually faulty, I could not do it stealthily at all. I completed it by just killing them all. - You can finish the game not killing anyone except for one nasty fellow. If you do want to kill I suggest you do a lot of training with Bernard after the "Ginger in a pickle" quest.

Finaly, after 3 months of gaming I finished the game

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 04:48 PM PDT

This is the first time i failed when trying to learn a skill in the 300 hours that i have played. does this happen randomly or did i do something wrong?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 10:03 AM PDT

Players from Czechia- I’m curious if the game contains any nuances such as cultural references that people from other countries might not understand or miss altogether?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 11:03 PM PDT

Could you please cite examples and explain the reference?

when will the game become fun?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 09:17 AM PDT

playing for a couple of hours so far. So far only quite boring long missions, a lot of cut scenes and conversation.

Im at the part where I have to go back to bury my parents.

Is this just the early game or will it keep going on like this?

Clever ways to poison or get others drunk?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:44 AM PDT

So I've finally want to try my hand at some creative ways to mess up with bandit camps, I know about the trick with poisoning the food bowl, or waiting till everyone is sleeping to get them without gear. Yesterday I was trying some wine poisoning with the dollmaker potion, so then I could just clean up afterwards chopping them down with an axe, however I don't ever see them going for the wine, I'm not even sure it works, plus if I'm close enough to look at them, they're kept stuck on a "who is there?" animation.

I've also read you can drop coins or potions to distract others, very cool thing to do. I'm always looking on the pickpocketing quests for targets to get drunk or sleep, but this tends to go very badly, and it doesn't look like they get drunk even if at the tavern for a long time, isn't there a way to trick them to get drunker?

Question about heavy build vs light build

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:44 AM PDT

I began the game intending to go with a more light, quick style, but it seems like the protection of heavy armor trumps the increased inventory and better foot speed of light armor. Is there a material advantage to going with lighter armor that makes it worth it? Should I just keep a stealth outfit on my horse for sneaking and otherwise go heavy?

    Unblockable Riposte (Not Master Strike)

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:40 AM PDT

I've noticed that for some reason I am unable to block massive choreographed riposte attacks that a small child with a frying pan probably could.

Especially sword and shield attacks where the guy does a huge swing around his head and I am able to press Q about 7 times before he lands his hit that he shouldnt have.

Am I doing something wrong? Am I supposed to evade? Evading seems very unreliable.

I have also noticed how unreliable ripostes are when I try them. Often leads me directly into a glitchy master strike.

Late game really discourages attacking in general. Essentially every fight with a skilled opponent is a monkey shit fling staring contest for who can pull off the most master strikes.

Combos rarely work too. Can't get enough hits off before they pull a master strike so whats even the point of it?

    Some cool mods?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2020 04:36 AM PDT

I'm getting bored of the "clean" game and I'd like to try some cool mods that would add something to the game. I don't need any cheats (I already use Wealthy Merchants and Instant herbpicking) as well as mods that make the game more difficult to play. I want something that would change the way I play the game. So are there any mods like that? If you know about some, comment their names. I'm gonna find them on Nexusmods.
