Is the Quartered Combat Jacket the best Outer Garment in the game?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 10:30 AM PST

I'm talking about this particular piece of armor (https://kingdomcomedeliverance.gamepedia.com/Quartered_combat_jacket) which I've had for quite some time, and it seems a bit odd that I haven't found anything better yet.

It's leagues above the Waffenrocks and the Hoods, that's for sure, but is there anything better than it?

    Needs improving

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 09:16 AM PST

So I just started playing this the other day. I understand that this was catered towards computer play but there's a lot of issues with this game. For one the lockpick system is garbage. I loved how oblivion handled lock picking, Skyrim was good too. Most games have a lockpick system that is easy to understand. Playing lock picking parts with a controller is garbage. This honestly shouldn't even be a feature when the entire games f**ked as hard as it is. For instance once you get to Talmberg you're three options are just awful. 1. Lock pick a chest 2. Bribe the guard 3. Jump out of the castle through the moat

Option one hasn't even been taught to your character and there's no work around when Stephanie said they might have some extra pieces lying around I expected to find a option of armor hidden away or a chest to lockpick. You start with 0 in the stat and have no real money to buy more lockpicks. Trying to do a save glitch I tried probably about 10-15 times and got it once and after that half hour of persistence I got caught by a guard. The second option is at the beginning when you still HAVE NO MONEY every coin is extremely valuable. Did no one think that these options were a bad choice to start the game on? This is all on normal difficulty. Good luck to anyone on hard I actually have other things to do than play a game. Option three, it's not impossible to do but you definitely don't want to make this choice. It's like "hey get this stuff but spend a stupid amount of time on it or just run around naked and afraid."

The combat system is garbage. There I said it. Auto-lock is the worst. Anytime you go to run from a fight it pulls you back in or you get tackled. Also what is the sense in the tackle? I've had full plate guys bum rush my ass and run faster than I can. For the whole 'but the realism crowd' just drop it. How about the dogs, sure that 20-30 pound dog could totally just destroy a guy in full plate. I mean if you slash them it does a minor chunk of damage. It takes me about 4 hits to kill them. A dog last I checked can't stand one good slash from a sword. It's not realistic I get he's a blacksmith son but if that's the case why can't he auto grindstone weapons? Shouldn't that just be innate? No? How about the fact that you can't really make anything from scratch? Again it falls short on the realism side because what if I just want to be a blacksmith and put all this behind me? No combat, no lock picking or crafting potions. Sh*t you can craft potions before weapons or armor. These are major gameplay flaws for the 'but it's realistic crowd'. Overall I love the story and I see what they were going for but I feel as though they over extended the game mechanics they were trying to work with and ruined their own game. And before anyone jumps down my throat about getting good I've played and loved the dark souls games. They're challenging, but fair. This game just makes you feel like you're playing with bots who have some god mode.

Who else does all the side missions first in games like KCD?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:31 PM PST

For some reason I'm just compelled to do every single side mission/activity, before doing the main quest. Like I'm a high level in everything but I haven't even done the hunting mission with hans.

    Does armor condition impact charisma?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 11:09 PM PST

I have a nobleman's hat (base 20 charisma) and it's currently at 45% condition. I stole it so there's no way for me to repair it, but I noticed that some of my other low condition items display -1 to stab and slash defense. My hat doesn't have any modifier on its charisma stat despite its poor condition. If I just want max charisma out of it and don't care about the defenses will I run into any problems if I just let it's condition deplete to 0? Or does the condition actually impact charisma but not display it?
