I accidentally deleted a 200hr save because I looked away thinking I had the UI memorised and ended up deleting the save instead of playing it. Am I retarded?

Regarding the Battle System and Tutorials

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 05:54 AM PST

Now hear me out, I know that I just need to git gud, the usual stuff, and I am currently trying to get used to the Master Strike timing

But so far, all of the stuff Bernard/the wanderer in Skalitz told you is pretty useless.

Chain strikes? You either combo or gtfo. Chain strikes only works to lesser non-armored enemies, which you can pretty much flail on and they'd die. Higher class enemies would either block all of your 'chain strikes', or straight up master strike parry you on the second flailing around.

Feinting? You either hold you weapon on one side long enough that the enemy would just hit you, or as soon as you move the strike, the enemy would just block there. I have never once landed a successful feint outside of Bernard's training in 24 hour of playtime. The higher the enemy rank is, the easier it seems for them to just instantly read your move and block there.

The only useful thing is the perfect block, but even then lately I just find that perfect block is just a failed master strike, and isn't any more useful than not getting the perfect block at all. I feel that perfect blocking should at least daze the enemy for one second or something.

As of now, fighting anyone feels like either right-click spamming and hoping one or two good hit, or pray that your reflex is fast enough to get the master strike.

Even combo seems really useless at this stage, since I never pulled a combo outside of Bernard's training, and most of the time, the enemy would just parry my second or third attack anyway.

Perks that reduces opponent's stamina seems to be rather useless as well, since you can't see the opponent's stamina, makes sense, but if you flail to reduce the opponent's stamina, you're at risk of getting damaged as well, which isn't the ideal scenario.

Am I playing the game wrong? Is getting stabby and perfecting the master strike is the only way to play the combat?

    Thank you :)

I've been on reddit now for 7 years and I just wanted to say thank you to this community for being the nicest, most patient and fun to interact with I've ever seen. In my experience most subreddits now seem to be toxic piles of sludge but you guys somehow aren't at all. You can tell a lot about a game from the kind of people who play it and it speaks volumes about how awesome KCD is that so many lovely people play it.

Kingdome come Deliverance: A Tolkien Story

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 04:24 AM PST

    Hi Reddit

It's been a while since I played KCD, probably since the release of the game. I can still recall myself watching the trailers Warhorse put out every few months and hyping myself for the game. Now i've seen they're putting all their effort into modding and making the game easy to mod. Hence my statement and follow up question. Literally everybody who played this games must love medieval titles and 99% of that audience loves LOTR.

Is there a remake of Middle Earth in the making? Will it be possible to play a modded map in the shape of middle Earth? (not the scale obv) Can we fight Urukhai with Narsil? Hehe

Kind regards Someone who thinks it's time there is a new LOTR game.

I have may screwed Sir Hans missions

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 10:15 AM PST

I finished the story and only the Epilogue is opened (sir Hans is waiting for me in the end of the map). I did several things after this and now these missions below are not opening for me

    Capon's Champion

    Any way to recover it?

    Press Q to win?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 01:15 AM PST

Is there a sense to use anything else beside master strike in fights? After learning it - all my fights turned into pressing Q. I would really like to use some combos from perks as they look awesome - but the heck - every time I try to do combo I got reposted/masterstroke in response, and the only chance to win is insta Q on everything beside half naked peasants...

Playing through KCD for the first time. Purchased all the DLC packs (on console), and I just got to the Rattay mill after the heartbreaking opening. Jumped right into A Woman’s Lot via Theresa, and this game is phenomenal!

    Posted: 11 Dec 2019 02:27 PM PST

It's so refreshing to have a slower paced, world building, non-hack and slash game. Especially one set in medieval times!

Based on some comments I've read, after A Woman's Lot, I'm going to golden-path the story until I get to Bernard in Rattay and learn some skills.

This game has taken me over. What a journey!

    [Spoilers] Question about Reeky

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 05:14 AM PST

So I'd like to know exactly how long I have to save Reeky after getting the quest from Father Goodwin. The first time I did the quest several months ago, I think I messed around for a day in Rattay before going to Ledechko and he was still fine, but that was some time ago, so I can't remember exactly how long I let it sit. This time around I find myself wanting to hurry over there since I know what's coming, but coming off of the crazy night with Goodwin I've got only around 50 energy upon hitting Ledechko which means I'm going to be half asleep by the time I get to Reeky and in no condition to be helping him fight off bandits. Am I able to sleep and go there in the morning, or is that likely going to lead to his death?

    Thanks

I think the second game will be released like a DLC, not like another game

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 03:50 AM PST

    That's because of several reasons.

    • We progressed through the game, leveled skills and selected perks. This would have to be transferred if it was another standalone game
    • We had multiple choices, which could have an effect on the second game
    • There still is a last open mission, even if you completed every other mission, where it tells you to retrieve your fathers sword
    • The Epilogue where you ride off with Hans Capon would blend in perfectly with just the continuation of the existing game rather than a new game

What's your take on this? I think it would be pretty hard to port all of this to a new game, even if a prefered to have a second and separate installment because it would be way easier to build a stable game with less bugs and maybe even better performance.

    Could be handy for Pribyslavitz

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 02:30 AM PST

Considering buying the game on PC. But i have two questions that will help me decide.

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 01:55 AM PST

1: Is there a mod that allows for Oblivion-like saving? (At-will, foregoing the need of a consumable item to save).

2: What is the state of the game compared to launch? Are there still a lot of bugs? How is performance, generally speaking?
