Holy trinity of medieval games [personal opinion]

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 04:58 AM PDT

Guys, I don't know if it breaks any rule, but I need to tell you this.

(If it breaks any rule, tell me and I'll delete it)

I have finally found my holy trinity of medieval games that let's me play in every role I could possibly want.

    1. Kingdom Come Deliverance: I play as a peasant turned man-at-arms. I fight right in the thick of things, the bloody reality down in the ground. Also I get to live away from all the ruckus if I want and just wander in the meadows, down by the river or the woods. It's a private life.

    2. Medieval II Total War: I play as a general. I can command armies and execute complex maneuvers.

    3. Crusader Kings III: I play as a ruler, be it a duke, king or emperor. It's all about politics, sometimes dirty and sometimes clean.

These three combined together, I can play as anybody I want, from the lowest soldier to the highest emperor.

Would you please tell me about the other games you like to play relevant to the theme of Kingdom Come Deliverance?

Found an "Accident". Must have been the wind

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 07:08 AM PDT

Look guys I found out they already made a movie like a 30 years ago!

    Posted: 12 Apr 2021 03:36 PM PDT

I got bored and now I'm spending my days reproducing armor sets from the trailers and promotional arts, and now my target is this knight in the foreground. I got all the pieces except the gambeson. (Continue in comments)

Should I get this on series x?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 10:41 AM PDT

It's on sale now and want to know if it's a good idea to get as I don't know if there is many glitches and how good is combat on controller?

After a few days of futile effort, I found out that I could hate Henry. Or maybe this is how Hans Capon trolls fans in real life? -_- #puzzle

I'd love a mod that gives Henry a revolver.

I know it's not in the spirit of the game, but I just think that it'd be really fun and kind of wacky. A group of bandits ambushes you in the road, and you pull out a Colt and blast them away. Would it remove challenge? Yes. Would it be pretty awesome? Also yes.

    Leveling up your bowmanship

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 10:14 AM PDT

TIL The archery ranges can be used to level up. When I was there in the previous games there was no benefit to shooting at the range. Today I was checking the XP as I shot and nothing changed. However, when T joined a contest I was able to add about 200 points to my skill. When shooting in a contest you get 1 point per score on the target and 3 more for finishing first I don't know what you get shooting Chumps.

When hitting game if I remember right you get 7 points per kill.. A good hunt will help you more, and give you meat to sell. I always start at Gallows Hill and take down the herd of sheep there. I get to level 5 in just a couple of in-game days

I've heard this is a pretty notoriously hard game. Any tips for a beginner?

How to kill people without it counting as a kill

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 02:43 AM PDT

This is for the merciful trophy of course. I don't plan on rushing everything so I'd like a regular hardcore playthrough... but with a 0 (1) kill count

What ways of killing doesn't count ?

I think poisoning and bleeding out your ennemy doesn't count, please confirm me this

Also, do Mutt kills count ? Thanks

    Preparing for Baptism of Fire

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 08:30 AM PDT

Hi all. Picked this game up a few weeks ago and really enjoying it. I got to the battle at the enemy camp as part of the Baptism of Fire quest and I just can't get by it. After reading some guides it looks like I need to prepare more. I have a save right before it and was thinking of spending some time getting better weapons, armor as well as more proficiency at combat.

The guides seem to say that before doing the battle I should get a mace (my sword doesn't do anything against the armored enemy), get a better bow (my bow take 5-6 arrows to take down an enemy archer) and better armor.

Any tips on where to score a good mace and bow early on? A few guides say to wander the roads and fight bandits, but seems every encounter is 3-4 armored men.

For the battle itself, I burned the arrows but didn't do the poison. Does the poison help much? That said, I am told the fight with Runt is hard.

    Thanks for any tips!

The Good, The Bad and The Christian

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 03:55 AM PDT

    Greetings!

I'm starting up another playthrough and was wondering if a playthrough as a good Henry (no stealing, no aimless murdering etc) is possible? Will I miss on good things? I mean, for instance doing the miller's quest at the beginning wouldnt make sense (imo) for a young disciple. So, is it possible to ignore every morally questionable quests? Am I missing a big part of the experience?

Are there any other games similar to KCD?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2021 06:46 AM PDT

I got this game in December and I've played it through the past 4 months. Completed pretty much everything except some activities. It quickly became one of my favorite games of all time and is unlike anything I've played before. I was wondering if there are any other games that could scratch the itch until the (hopefully inevitable) sequel comes out? The most similar game I've played to this is actually Oblivion, with its duality of a vibrant and colorful atmosphere contrasting with a lot of morbidity, humor, many great quests, and even a similar UI theme, but otherwise it's of course almost nothing like KCD.
