Kingdom Come I somehow missed out on Father Godwin's quest Mysterious Ways on my first playthrough. Having just completed it as I work my way through my second, I can't believe it's only optional!

    0:42 translated into Hungarian is

"Hey you, wait a little! What do you want, staring at everything?"

    "I need to pee"

"Here you can do it wherever you want, we're walking in shit to the knee anyways."

Is this safe to play now? - PS4

    Posted: 05 Jan 2021 06:40 AM PST

This game is on a good special on the PS store right now. Was interested in this since launch but could not afford it.

Heard this game is notorious for game breaking bugs. Is this game in a playable state on PS4 in 2020? I'm fine with 30 fps as well. Should I take the Royal Edition, is the DLC worth playing?

Any solution to the chat animations?

    Posted: 05 Jan 2021 08:34 AM PST

I just got this game on the Steam sale and I am loving it. However, when you are chatting with women in particular, there is this stiff, highly noticeable left-right head nod animation they do that I am finding strangely distressing. Is there any option for modding out the default chat animations? Does anyone know what I am referring to, here?

Run! quest possibly bugged for me?

    Posted: 05 Jan 2021 02:17 AM PST

    Hello everyone,

I started playing Kingdom Come for the first time yesterday (PC version, high end PC) and i can't escape from Skalitz.

Every time I load the game, I am facing Keep in front of me and spawn next to Cuman.

Even 1 second of hesitation results in taking sword hits from him.

Even if I start running immediately he eventually catches up to me.

    Am i doing something wrong?

    Kingdom Come is beyond amazing!

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 01:16 PM PST

Definitely not my type, as I usually prefer isometric RPGs with partial/no voice acting focused on storytelling rather gameplay. However, this is probably the best game I've played outside Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity.

KC:D has the best integration between the Immersive Sim formula and RPG mechanics by a mile, which begs the question: how the hell an indie studio took Bethesda & cia to back school?

Moreover, there's an obscene amount of hand crafted content. Just finished with 190 hours logged in and several major side quests untouched along with two DLC. That without doing any grind, mind you.

Some points which IMO makes KC:D the best Immersive Sim of the past generation:

    • Rewarding and satisfying combat. Fights, even at high level, remain fun and dynamic. Archery remains challenging throughout the whole game. Nothing more satisfying than landing a combo.
    • Quests design that, although often faulty, rewards attention to detain and actually makes you think.
    • Integration between skills, gameplay and quest design. KC:D has dedicated quests to Lockpick, Herbalism, Alchemy etc and many opportunities to use them on the main and side quests.
    • Integration between immersion mechanics like hunger and sleep with other systems. For instance, the game rewards a competent management of those with bonuses (balanced diet perk), or poisoning enemy kettles.
    • Charisma System. Most IS have a shit ton of apparel that is useless, KC:D actually integrates it with the charisma mechanic and quests (i.e. Hans Capon quest line and initial interaction).

Missed Mysterious Ways... Any way to get it back?

I'm still on the same quest. Just chose the speech option and convinced him instead. This was hours and hours ago, no way to reload.

Ryzen 3600 bottlenecking at every resolution but 4k?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 08:00 PM PST

Hey guys! I just downloaded this game and it seems like a great time. I'm encountering issues at literally every resolution except for 1800p or 4k.

    System specs are ryzen 3600@4.35ghz/32gb@3200mhz/5700xt/x570

I INTENDED to play this game at 1440p at like, medium high. This leads me to have usually a 70fps experience but when looking at large cities or when there are a ton of people around it drops to like 35fps sometimes. This obviously ruins the fluidity and breaks immersion. While monitoring my cpu and gpu usage i see one or two threads MAX out on the Ryzen, and then my gpu usage drops to like 50%, then I drop to 35fps. It happens frequently. I set it to 1080p to see what would happen, same thing.

For shits and giggles I ran it at 4k(using virtual super resolution) everything at ultra high. These CPU usage spikes ceased to happen. Obviously my average framerate dropped substantially, but it no longer fluctuates nearly as much.

I took it one step further by instead hooking my pc up to my 4k television and capped the framerate at 30, still ultra high/hd textures/max AA and everything.

During this scenario it runs pegged at a stable 30 and looks unreal. Like I've never seen graphics like that before. It was so cool. 99% GPU usage and the CPU not spiking anymore(likely due to much lower peak framerate). I've accepted that this cpu/gpu combination is CPU bottlenecked at 1440p no matter what I do and Locked 30 ultra 4k is likely the way I'll play this game.

My question is mainly, is there known issues with amd ryzen CPUs and the way this game distributes load amongst the threads? Does this happen to everyone who's not using an i9? I've heard cryengine hammers the cpu but no other games have had this effect on my pc before.

Would zen3 alleviate this bottleneck? If it would it looks like I'm getting a 5900x before a 3080/6800

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's only loosely related.

    Thanks!

    Ginger in a Pickle

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 08:52 PM PST

This quest is supposedly at the mid game, according to the IGN wiki. If I'm indeed at the mid game, shouldn't Henry be more than a peasant by now? I'm terrible at combat, worse in archery, I still haven't don't the learning to read quest or alchemy. Do the Quests get longer so I have more time to do these things or should I just stop doing main quest for now?

    I can't kill Black Peter

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 11:31 AM PST

After i won a Rattae tournament, Black Peter tried to kill me. I drunk a Saviour Schnapps just before that, so i can try again and again to kill him, but i can't. I don't have good armor and sword, and he has poinsoned sword. I hit him countless times, but he just tanks it until he parries me in that stupid ripost animation, which i can't do anything about.

I do have an antidote, but i can't use it during the fight, and He just turtles until poison gets me.

    What do i do?
