Posted: 11 Jan 2021 08:17 AM PST I have since finished the game but let me tell my fun little experience from a little bit after I got through the prologue. I had finished the prologue, yay I guess, but in doing so I was left without a sword. I also didn't even have 3 groschen, let alone a horse so buying anything was out of the question. I did some main missions but I still didn't have a sword. I was literally playing this game for a good bit without a weapon at all. "I have to change this somehow and get a weapon of my own as well as some groschen" So, I decided to some side missions. In particular, the one where you have to steal a ring from the executioner for peshek. Fast forward a bit after I had hobbled my way on foot from the rattay mill to the executioners house. Peshek had told me that the executioner was a nasty guy who was not to be messed and he also had some scary dogs. I kept these words in mind... Sort of. So instead of snooping around behind this executioner while he minded his business and getting my hide hung I thought up a genius idea. I would sneak behind the executioner while he wasn't looking, knock him out, kill him then take all of his loot and his sword. I snuck up on the executioner and suddenly put my arms around his neck trying to kill him with all the strength I had left. Unfortunately for me the executioner easily twisted himself out of my chokehold and started punching me. This left me with no choice....run! I tried to run but it was futile. The executioner kept tackling me. I was cornered like a dog with no other option but to fist fight with this dude. It was intense and I was low heath when It was said and done but after 20 minutes of fist fighting I knocked the executioner out and snapped his neck. I rejoiced as I looted him (I made sure to take his keys) and his house dry and eventually after 5 minutes of searching I found his ring. I even took the executioners sword...which required way more strength then my peasant boi henry had but I was not complaining because finally, I had a weapon. I strolled back to peshek expecting a big payout after all that work I had put in. Finally I was close to getting a good sum of groschen. I got there and gave peshek the ring... only for him to say "ha buddy, its actually some worthless copper ring lmao, But thanks buddy I know your reliable now so I'll give you some thief quests later. And about that pay, heres 10 groschen." My face was completely straight but hey, at least I had a weapon now and a few more groschen then before. The moral of this story: There isn't always a perfect ending to every story because in the end the sword was only a little bit better than my fists (because my strength stat was so low) and I only got a few more groschen [link] [comments]

Did they ever fix Alcoholism, or is there a mod for it? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 09:59 AM PST At release, I discovered a bit of an... issue with the game when playing my alcoholic character playthrough. Essentially, you're not allowed to do that really, as alcoholism is just a permanent debuff that's there once you have it until you no longer have it, and at the time at least, drinking would just extend the duration. Which... doesn't make sense. Drinking should restart the timer on that effect, sure, but should negate the debuff while you're drunk. Wondering if they ever made any adjustments to that, if there's a mod available, or if my dreams of a drunkard Henry playthrough are permanently squashed. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jan 2021 09:55 AM PST I'm doing the runt bossfight and I've been sitting here for hours just hitting him in the body because its harder to land hits to head I feel, however it feels like I'm doing no damage, does anyone know if body shots actually do damage, it must seem like a stupid question but I just thought I'd ask [link] [comments]
can i buy and apply a woman's lot in the middle of a campaign? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 05:28 AM PST i am asking because it is hard to play without a dog, so i want to buy the dlc to get a dog, but can i buy the dlc and make it work in the middle of a campaign, and will i get a dog as a result? Best RPG I have played in the last decade Posted: 10 Jan 2021 12:11 PM PST Just want to show my appreciation for this game in this post. Recently purchased the game and have 30 odd hours played so far. And let me tell you, 30 phenomenal hours of gameplay. The combat is so well done in this game, the activities you can participate in is insane. Recently just brewed some saviour schnapps while not having the ability to read and it was so satisfying. Thank you Warhorse Studios [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jan 2021 07:45 AM PST Anyone know a good way of leveling your strength because theres a sword I want to you but I don't meet the strength requirements, any help is appreciated [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jan 2021 07:27 AM PST This may be a stupid question as KCD has this realistic approach, but if we start bleeding, there is nothing we can do during the fight? no magi potion or anything to drink or apply to fix the bleeding or rise health during combat? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jan 2021 02:04 PM PST Is that there aren't many games like it. So when I finished KCD I struggled to find a game to scratch the itch. The answer was more KCD as it turns out. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jan 2021 06:47 AM PST I wanted to post my top 5 list of the best RPG's I have played to this date on this subreddit because I think you guys would like my number 1 spot. (P.S. I don't include Rockstar games because there in a league of their own)
Honorable Mention. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag [Edit: Since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is actually an action adventure game I removed it from my list and moved up one spot] [link] [comments]
Returning to the game after two years Posted: 11 Jan 2021 04:32 AM PST I am returning to the game after some time without any knowledge of effect of the DLCs or any other changes Warhorse and/or modders were able to achieve so far. I did not quite finish the game before (although I progressed relatively far) so I know what to expect. But this time I am also looking for some more challenge as the vanilla game stopped being difficult mid game. I perused the sub and FAQs but I could not find some comprehensive list of existing mods that rebalance the game to be more challenging or immersive. I also have a new rig so any mods improving on visual aspects are also welcome. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jan 2021 05:56 AM PST Pros:—It's insanely immersive with great and deep RPG elements. This is hands-down the best medieval simulator on the market today and a must-buy for all medieval enthusiasts. —Combat is easy to pick up and challenging to master. It's extremely rewarding and logical; By that I mean that it may not be perfectly realistic but all of the moves and actions in combat make sense. Unlike most other medieval RPGs where you spin and twirl like a ballerina. —The game has a huge amount of general detail. For example: Both you and your opponent get noticeably bloodied and bruised as you take more damage and the NPCs in the game will actually comment on it. —The world is very beautiful to look at from a distance. The color palette is very bright in regular locations and dark and grim to suit more serious places of the game. —The game engine is mostly great. You can walk in and out of buildings; Ride from city to city without a single loading screen in between. There is unfortunately some annoying menu lag and pop-in textures. Cons:—The textures and overall graphics are extremely outdated. As I said, the atmosphere is great and it looks pretty from a distance but on closer inspection, the graphics and textures are straight from the PS3-era. This is a minor con though as it doesn't take away from the overall experience and also this is the very first game from this company who had limited funds to work with. —Everyone, each and every single person you meet in the game, Is a master swordsman. No matter their background, no matter their gear, They have mastered combat. They will never bite on your feints and will block or counter 95% of all your moves with surgical precision. —The developers have fixed a lot of the issues but you will still encounter gamebreaking bugs and glitches which is amplified by several orders of magnitudes thanks to the god-awful autosave. Forcing you to re-do up to an hour of gameplay if you didn't manually save. —The thievery system is absolute garbage and doesn't make any sense. Everyone is completely omniscient when it comes to your items and refuse to buy shit you stole from a town that's lightyears away from them. I don't care if this was made for balancing purposes because, at the end of the day, It's completely illogical and immersion breaking. —Archery and lockpicking are both extremely poorly designed for consoles. You'll rarely ever use them (unless you're a masochist) as the analog sticks are far more sensitive and delicate than a computer mouse, making it so much easier to mess up. To add insult to injury, Lockpicks cost a fortune and can only be bought from 1 single, solitary vendor in 1 single city if you choose to play as a decent person. Puzzlingly, There is no type of crosshair for Archery which is stupid as there is a dot in the centre of your screen outside of combat. There is a simplified lockpicking version but even that still sucks as your lockpick gets stuck for absolutely no reason, Even if you're not touching the sides. Both of these were created solely for the PC and were poorly ported over to consoles. —Forests are extremely barren with only Hares, Boars, Deers, Bandits and hunters "populating" them. That sounds like a lot but you will very rarely run into them. There should've been a bit more animal variety, preferably with some predators like bears, wolves and wildcats. —The RPG elements are kinda inconsistent at times. The game has a reputation system, as your social status was extremely important back then. Your actions influence whether you lose or gain reputation. But it's inconsistent as certain acts that should gain or lose you reputation don't do that. For example: After losing the archery challenge to Hans Capon, I COMPLETELY destroyed him in a sword-fight. He did not land a single strike. Despite that, I didn't gain any reputation. I understand that he did the same to me in the archery section but I should've gained some renown for steamrolling a trained nobleman as a noob peasant. —The story is very predictable. They do that cliché beginning where everything seems too "perfect" and then disaster strikes. There are also some completely illogical hiccups. For example: In the beginning of the story you are tasked with delivering a sword your father made to Radzig. Shortly thereafter, The entire village is razed and your father is killed. You escape to another city and encounter Radzig once more and your character doesn't even bother to think about giving him the sword. But later, You are narrowly saved from a bandit attack and left in a short coma. When you wake up, All of the sudden, You're extremely Gung ho and single-minded about returning this sword to the nobleman, For no reason. There was also this fucking weird encounter I had in the Ginger In a Pickle quest where Bernard told me to immediately go after Ginger once he disappeared from Neuhof. I went after him, interrogated the charcoal burners and when I went back to Bernard for help against the 2 bandits he was absolutely fucking livid and went on a rant saying how he'd want me hung for desertion. Despite me doing Exactly as he said with the only deviation being returning to Rattay to sleep and sell some stuff. So basically: He gave me orders, I followed them to a tee and I still got an ear-beating for doing Exactly what he said. Overall, The game is probably a solid 7.5/10 and Warhorse Studios have to be commended for their efforts. Unfortunately, the performance issues and some of the other bone-headed design choices dropkick you out of the immersion at times but those can be forgiven considering how small this development team is. Idk what they are doing now but I hope they continue this franchise, Build on what they did in this game and learn from their mistakes. With a bigger budget, I think Kingdom Come can even overshadow similar, larger RPG series like the Elder Scrolls. [link] [comments]
I'm thinking about buying kingdom come Posted: 10 Jan 2021 10:00 PM PST I'm thinking about getting kingdom come as its on sale for like 13 CAD rn but it doesn't seem to have what id like in a medieval game like raising an army, being king, owning or building a house/castle, but it still looks decent what would u guys recommend i do? Posted: 10 Jan 2021 03:55 PM PST I just realized, there are no children in KCD. How should the kingdom and its people survive if if there are no children???? [link] [comments] |
