Damn this game caught me off guard

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 09:28 PM PST

So far I'm 30 hours in and sakra what a good game. I've just now got a computer good enough to play it on and I have to say this is the best rpg I've played in a loooong time. It's got everything meaningful combat, intriguing quest ( the quest with the priest was epic ) and romance. This game has been the full package for me. I hope to see more from the devs.

    Cheers!!

    Game Breaking Bug on PS4

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 03:42 AM PST

So, this game has been out for 2 whole years, theyve churned out 5 pieces of paid DLC and updated the game to version 1.92 and there is still a game breaking bug within the main questline that means my 150h put into the game are now worthless? And all the money I spent in this game is also worthless? Are you fucking kidding me Warhorse?

It's 'Cold Steel, Hot Blood' or vice versa, whatever it's called doesnt matter because I cant even play the quest. The cut scenes of the 'Siege' Trebutchet test happen, and then I'm stuck on an infinite loading screen, although the quest updates itself, and the music plays. And looking online this is a massively documented problem that people have messaged Warhorse about hundreds of times. Yet 2 years post release and lots of updates and paid DLC later....their main questline still isnt even completeable for a lot of people. It's disgusting.

Things I've tried to resolve the issue:

    • restarting the game

    • loading a different save file and then returning to my bugged save file.

    • loading an older save and immediately doing the quest.

    • uninstalling and then reinstalling the game

    • opening the ps menu mid cut scene and/or during the infinite load

    • watching all and skipping all cut scenes.

    • removing and reinserting the disk (because why not at this point)

And a combination pattern of all the above, such as loading a different save, returning to an older save of my bugged game, and then skipping all cut scenes until the last, which I watch and then go to PS dashboard in hopes of reinitialising it.

None of these things work, and they are the only fixes on the internet for a console copy. Warhorse is disgraceful as a company at this point, worse than the devs of No Man's Sky, because at least they sincerely apologised and made the game into something people actually enjoy.

    My first playthrough

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 09:40 PM PST

I got this game on Xbox Game Pass almost a year ago, played it once, never touched it again. After being let go and suddenly having a crap time of free time I have now sunk almost 250 hours into KCD. I've always been a shooter and reflex type gamer so RPGs are still new to me but this game is just so amazing. Everything keeps you hooked and playing for hours and hours. Some minor glitches but other than that, this game is perfect. Anyways I was hoping for content suggestions after the endgame I.E. Sidequests, role play, new playthroughs, anything to keep me playing and loving KCD.

Some questions about the combat - ripostes and combos

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 01:16 PM PST

    Hey everybody,

I am absolutely loving this game, story, combat, characters and mechanics. I got through the whole training with captain Bernard, and while I feel currently able to take on any single enemy in the game, I do have some questions about combat, particularly about combos and ripostes.

    1. so far combos seem to have only one benefit, the fact that the last move will always hit provided you complete the combo. Completing the combos, however, can be trick against the better opponents, as they can usually parry, dodge or master strike any strike in the chain except for the last one. Feints don't seem to work that well either. Is that simply how it works? Is there any way to land them more frequently or effectively?
    2. The Riposte. I understand master strikes, and I've become adept at performing them. The game, however, indicated to me that there is a separate mechanic called the riposte, and it involves doing a perfect block and then immediately attacking. Whenever I do that, though, Henry just follows the block with a regular attack, no special animation or anything. It gets blocked or dodged 9 out 10 times. Am I doing something wrong or is a riposte just that, a regular attack after a perfect block?
    3. This not really combat related, but I reckon that if I still have someone's attention by now, might aswell ask: any good tips on ways to get good armor in this game? Plate armor would be nice, but lighter variants too. Armor deteriorates very fast, and repairing it seems quite expensive. Levelling maintenance skills also seems slow as hell.

    Appreciate any tips!

Is Blue highlighted numbers mean better or does it mean worse?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2020 01:41 PM PST

So I am wearing Patched Hose (Pants) at the moment, but if I go to the Tight Olive Hose (pants) the visibility, conspic, and noise are in red highlighted numbers.

Basically I'm asking are higher numbers for visibility conspic and noise good or worse? I'm new to this game and trying to get used to everything at the moment.
