    What's your least favorite quest?

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 05:55 PM PDT

I hated the forced hunting one for some reason probably because I suck with the bow.

I found this giant skeleton in the robber barons camp from the amorous adventures dlc. Counting the giant skeleton from one of the treasure maps, how many giant skeletons are in game?

How on earth do you deal with dogs with the lock on system?

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 02:20 PM PDT

I literally cannot lock on to these freaking dogs if there are any human enemies within my FOV. They just bite me and I can't block a dogs hit so I just get slapped over the head by the enemies while I kick them off.

I really feel like the combat system in this game wasn't made for non-human enemies but they included them anyway.

    First Playthrough Impressions

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 07:40 AM PDT

I'm not actually sure why I'm posting this, but this is the first time a video game actually left some sort of impression on me after my first playthrough of about 100 hours or so.

I brushed this game off back in 2018 due the complaints about the bugs and a lot of the reviews which portrayed it as slow, tedious, and somewhat boring. 6 months ago, I grabbed it for 10 bucks and figured why not. I can honestly say that this is probably the best RPG I've ever played.

I went through the standard phases of "I hate this game" or "The combat is impossible" or "I can't even kill a low level bandit without limping back to Rattay bearly alive" until I realized you had to play this game differently from any other RPG that I played. Once I just accepted the fact that Henry is more or less a peasent loser and that I couldn't just find good gear and start killing everything, the game got a lot easier. The concept of training to get better rather than finding stuff to get better is pretty revolutionary as far as a skill system is concerned. It also made the normally boring kill stuff to get stuff grind much more engaging and found the whole Ruin/Raiders/Interlopers quest line among the most fun in the game. I normally hate these types of quests.

The combat system, while not perfect, is really terrific. Early in the game I wanted to throw my controller across the room, but its just practice. It's engaging, fun, and you actually get some satisfaction when you win. This is a huge improvement from the RPGish single movement, swing your sword, and hit the enemy type gameplay.

I know a lot of people were turned off with how easy the combat becomes, and how Henry ends up turning into a 1 or 2 hit terminator at high levels, but I actually liked this. I felt like I deserved it with all the combat pain I endured earlier in the game.

The Main questline, although a bit tedious at certain points, I thought was great and very engaging. Great cutscenes/cinematics/voice acting and story telling. I thought the majority (not all) of the side quests were boring and somewhat pointless, but I always think this for pretty much all RPGs. The only game that ever engaged me on side quests was Skyrim with the whole guild quest thing because you actually got something out of it (Some sort of prestige or cool digs). Regardless, its probably the only game that I've ever gotten to the 60ish hour mark and didn't start wanting to just finish it.

    Things that were funny:

Your a 2000 pound warhorse. I know its a pretty big shrub but you can do it. If we managed to get out of that stream last time, you can handle the shrub.

I may as well just die in this grave I just dug because I can't get out of it.

Yes, I know you're honored that a knight such as me takes an interest in you for the 23rd time.

Henry's not a smart man, but in the rare times that he is, you know he's gonna drop the finger point move like a boss.

I just need my shirt fixed, let me know when your finished with the invisible one on the imaginary table your working at

Dude, I've sold you 100,000 groshen worth of crap in the last 60 hours, i'm not trying to pickpocket you and steal your dried meat.

Don't mind me, I'm just going to eat from the pot of food that you probably just made for your family, but I'll throw a little old cheese in there for you.

Bro, this is the third time I've saved the entire kingdom from death, im sorry my torch isn't lit.

I know you are busy guarding stuff, but I really need to get up these stairs.

Nice, thanks for the 2x2 closet. I guess I need to save the free world a few more times.

How many walks is this going to take Teresa?

This is the 14th time I've won the rattay tournament, can you not introduce me with just a tad more vigor?

As much as I enjoy an honorable duel, I think I'll just choke you out and leave you on the road in your underwear.

Never underestimate what 200 rotten hares is going to look like when you drop it in the street. Also never underestimate the volume of people who will pick it up and probably eat it even though they have been in my pocket for a week.

Anyway, great game, can't wait for the sequel.

I was fast traveling, decided to watch a battle i came upon, then helped kill a Cuman when he got close and my allies attacked and killed me.

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 12:47 PM PDT

I just started playing so I don't know too much about game quirks. I didn't want to take on the battle all myself because I didn't know what I was getting into but why would non Cumans kill me for helping them?
