When is this in the game?

Excuse me mate, that's not really something you should be doing in public.

Coming from Skyrim to this game is a rude awakening. I'm impressed!

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 11:52 AM PDT

I have near max stats and have all the best gear.

Yet charging into ragged bandits seems to be suicide. I had a hard time imagining that you could max out in a game with gear and perks, yet somehow player skill remains the deciding factor to each fight.

I just got killed because i was fighting a bandit and didn't know he had a friend behind the bushes and another pegging me with arrows.

I can best the tourney over and over with just 1 vs 1 duels in a flat, confined arena. But you put me in the forest with random terrain and random numbers of enemies bushing me and I'm reverting back to peasant Henry who doesn't know shit about fighting.

This game is amazing. I can get all the best gear and perks, but they're all useless if you have no real life or death fighting experience in the wilds.

So used to skyrim and fallout where your gear and skills carry you to God status, and player skill is a novelty.

Way to flip the tables. This game is money well spent.

And fucking finally a real sword fight! Can't just go around swinging at people like a baseball bat anymore!

    OK thanks for reading.

Changes & Suggestions for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 08:05 AM PDT

    • Romance options, character banter, and post-quest dialogue should be heavily expanded. It is very disappointing that you are simply unable to talk with characters after you finish their quests, alongside quests that significantly impact the plot. A good example of the contrary would be how you're able to take Theresa on a post-romance stroll, in which you are able to reveal Henry's status as being Sir Radzig's bastard to her (given that you romanced her and finished the Vranik mission.) I would love for a bit more drama/banter like this to be in the sequel, as it makes no sense that the main cast just stops talking to you after you work your ass off for them.
    • Make the local wildlife more hazardous. Packs of wolves, wild dogs, angry boars, aggressive mating-season stags, and European brown bears are all acceptable options for adding more spice to the wilderness and the overall hunting experience. It's not very exciting when the only thing that threatens you in a dark Bohemian forest is some random poacher who got pissy because you found his special spot.
    • Make melee combat targeting less clunky. I personally suggest a tweak in which simply pressing TAB would shift the targeting to the nearest enemy that is visible on-screen, while holding TAB would allow for you to change targets by shifting the direction that you are facing in.
    • Add perks to the Bow and Unarmed skills. Perks allow for different builds and playstyles to be pursued. It is very disappointing that there was nothing to gain from using your fists (non-stealth no-kill run anyone?) apart from specific quests that prompt you to brawl with someone. Bows on the other hand are effective when leveled, but are unsatisfying in comparison to melee weapons due to the lack of perk progression.
    • Make polearms a dedicated weapon category. It is shocking that polearms are just rare, overpowered pickups that contribute little to gameplay apart from providing a more infuriating enemy to deal with. (I'm sure that we all know of the historical prevalence of polearms in pre-industrial warfare.) Instead allow for us to use them as normal weapons. Offer polearms as a more unique weapon specialization that involves space/range management -- too far and you'll miss your hits, too close and you'll find yourself in a vulnerable position.
    • Give us some crossbows. Make it so that crossbows are characterized by their ease of use and accessibility in regards to lowborn men-at-arms. As they were historically used, the crossbow must be rendered as a convenient, but inferior ranged option due to its slow reload speed and lower effective range in comparison to bows.
    • Give us some mounted enemies. Mounted enemies were a huge missed opportunity for KC:D. Rogue knights, robber barons, Cuman cavalry/horse-archers, guard patrols, etc. etc. would be much more memorable enemies in fast-travel events (or at least more than some random tree/wagon blocking the path with 3-6 idiots hiding in the bushes nearby.)
    • Make guards a bit more unique. At the very least, have guards from different armies or fiefdoms (e.g. Sasau guards vs. Rattay guards) spawn with equipment that is unique to their location, culture, and/or political affiliation. The only thing they have going for them right now are reskinned waffenrocks -- and no one really bothers with wearing those.
    • Give us the ability to actually put hoods on. Putting a hood on should give a small bonus to stealth-related stats such as visibility and/or conspic. at the cost of lowered charisma (in the same way that most of the full-face helmets in the game give less charisma than fancy hats.)

I think I'm unintentionally rushing through the game

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 02:09 AM PDT

    Hello all,

so I'm currently about 30 hours in and feel like I'm going through the main story way too fast. My style of playing is that I do the main story and do parts of side quests if they are close to where I am. Felt most immersive to me, because middle age Bohemia certainly didn't have maps with big fat 'look here aaaaall at the other end of the world is something to do'-markers

Well, I just finished the Nest of Vipers main quests with a lot of issues. The main battle was fine, but the final boss beat the ever loving shit out of me. I'm basicly wearing the armour pieces I 'borrowed' from one of the bandits that were chasing Ginger and was way too weak. These are the only things I ever stole and kept, I even discarded the armour I stole when trying to get back to Skalitz. I ended up running in circles until I got enough distance for one bow shot until I got a lucky one hit in the head. Only other idea I had was reloading an early save and go do something else until I was ready. Both felt not really immersive.

Thats when I realized I'm half way through the main story. I thought it would take way longer to get there lol. So I'm wondering if theres a 'better' way to play this game. I don't want to soft lock/semi-cheat in every boss battle because I'm still an unskilled idiot.

I always had the issue of not being able to take on enemies 1v1 and ended up finding what I thought 'smarter' ways to get around the fights. I waited until enemies were asleep before I started stabbing them and I kited them in fights so they would unintentionally hit their allies instead of me (thanks random cuman archer for killing three of your friends). I took it as a 'oh, coooool the game lets you do that' and had a ton of fun when figuring out alternative slightly stupid ways to fin a fight, but now I'm thinking that shoulve been a warning that I'm not skilled enough to keep going like I did.

However, I'm really trying to play an RPG for once where I don't rob everything thats not nailed to the ground and atm thats the only way I see how I would get to better pieces or armor and so on. I always do that and I'm pushing myself to do something else for once.

When I started to play I checked out some of the 'activity giver' markers and got told to 'fuck off'. Did this happen because I went to them so early? Do their quests unlock after you reached a certain point of the main story? Do I need to check out as many as I can and only some will actually give quests? Will the side quests/activities even yield enough money so I can buy proper armor (which is super expensive) or can I take certain quests where I can get them as a reward?

Just let me know how you played the game and if you felt you were smoothly progressing. Because I feel like I'm tumbling around and hope my enemies break their feet when trying to follow me.

Low settings. Low fps. GTX 970

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 09:39 AM PDT

    Sup, Reddit

Just downloaded the game dreaming how I'll be running around enjoying the landscapes. All this got fucked up.

    RIG:

    GTX 970 OC'd, 4690K 4.2GHz OC'd, 8GB DD3 RAM.

Low settings - 40 fps in the game beginning. 1080p

I know that game optimization sucks a lot but well...I didn't expect this much of that.

RAM is fully utilized, VRAM is like 2GB out of 3.5 (4), CPU keeps straight 50%. This is wack. I've seen guys playing on GTX 970 and like high settings and their FPS at the same locations is way higher. What to do? I've got the latest game version.

    - Heapsize thing is applied, the game is on SSD

    I'd really appreciate any help.

I haven’t played since 2018 and just started my new playthrough, I forgot how difficult combat is without the training, also the chest in your skalitz house does that still act as a universal chest?

From the "a bird in the hand" quest. "It went something like this:EH AHHH, EH AHH EH EEAH"

    Somnambulant trait not working?

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 09:15 PM PDT

I absolutely love KCD and with quarantine being as long as it has I decided to play through the game again, but in hardmode. One of the traits I took was Somnambulant but it still hasn't happened to me yet. I have just interrogated Reeky and am on my way to Timmy. I don't know if this is because of where I am in the story or if it's just a chance based thing but I can't find anything online so I'm posting here :)
