    I had my eyes on this game back when it was first gaining hype as "the next Skyrim" inaccurately by some. I remember it releasing and reading/watching reviews. I think I remember reading "very slow to start" "very difficult " "different" "not the best on console" (im a console guy).I didn't get that game and didn't look back..

    It's on sale and I had just finished persona 5 royal and started but couldn't really get into the outer words. I bought it and it's dlc pack.

    WOW. What a game and what a story. I only just finished the prologue and am now on the "a woman's lot" section (I didn't know it was a dlc hahahaha).

    This game was judged incorrectly by a lot of people just because your can't instantly take out an army of bad guys let alone one drunk.

    Anyway just wanted to through a rant down.

    I am in my 2nd playthrough (hardcore) and I am pretty skilled with longswords, but since it kinda gets lame to be great with a weapon I will go for archery next, but I wanted to ask you guys if Short/hunting-swords or maces/axes are worth going for, because I never really played them except for the tournament, where aiming for the head with those weapons is just OP So what is your favorite weapon and what can you recommend?

    How do I get the wine for Hans when there are always people going up and down the stairs, and guards?

    In the Cleanliness next to Godliness quest I got Hans' key from the chest, then went to the Rathaus to get the wine. It doesn't seem to matter which door I go in, there are people going in and out, and guards, and they inevitably catch me.

    I tried ducking and hiding every time I saw movement, but it seems the game is triggering people to come up the stairs any time I try to go down. I managed to make it into the cellar once, grabbed the pitcher, but the guard came in and stopped me before I could fill it. The only dialogue option it gave me, and mind you I had a bard potion so speech was at 20, was either "I took a wrong turn" or "none of your business."

    If I tell him I took a wrong turn, he calls me a drunken fool and tells me to get out. If I say none of your business, I go to jail.

    But it took me 6 reloads to get as far as I did, and I've just reloaded twice more because again, there are people going up and down the stairs, and the guard is either leaning by the bench by the cellar door, or going down into the cellar itself. I tried sneaking up behind him, but he whipped around (padfoot potion, too!) and saw me.

    Any tips on how to get through this?

    A very good day

    Had a very good day. Started off with some sword training with Bernard, did really well, next i went to the tavern, had a drink and some food, read a book just to practice my reading, bought some food and a dress for Theresa, did some archery with Hans. Went back to the mill, gave Theresa her dress and went for a walk, then i went back to Rattay had some food then went to have a drink with Father Godwin, not a lot of drinks after last time. Then went back to the mill and slept.

    Any way or mod to make horse hooves quieter?

    It's so loud that sometimes i can barely hear other sounds when riding a horse. And haven't noticed an extra option in the sound options for that.

    Mods via Nexus Vortex don't work!

    Edit: ok nevermind, user problem, it's all good now! Turns out I was trying to repair something that was too damaged for my current skill!

    Downloaded a few eg Definitive Repair Kits (so I can repair gear lower than 50%) via Vortext but they don't appear to take effect. Many if not nearly all the mods on Nexus are outdated and don't work on the later versions of KCD and the mod devs didn't update them. Not even mod merger tools were updated so they don't help.

    I read that you can manually "fix" certain mods ie those that change rpg_param.xml (which is a common file to change) by renaming the file from rpg_param.xml to rpg_param.xml__definitiverepairkit and the game will do its own diff to load the new changes? If so do I rename every file (eg *.xml, *.tbl, etc)?

    This game makes me sad at ending

    wish we could follow henry's history...we will probably never know, because a new game would require a new person to train and level up in skill, henry would be just OP at the start...

    maybe, even a game that could be started with how we ended KC:D, with the same inventory, same weapons and all, in a new setting, province or something like that...

    grew way too attached to henry's story...
