I kind of wish in maybe the next game there would be 2 versions of how people would react to Henry Posted: 23 Jun 2020 01:42 AM PDT Ok so in the beginning of the game Henry is this pathetic kid that can't do anything, by the end of the game he is the best warrior in the province. So it would be nice if once Henry hits a certain level or maybe a point in the main quest random people, and especially enemies will start to fear you/respect you. Kind of like when you become a lord in mount and blade [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 09:19 AM PDT Facing pretty much any high skill opponent late game is really dull. Normal attacks, ripostes, combos and feints dont work. Just another opportunity for the AI to master strike you, and thats essentially what the combat is about - master strikes, master strikes, master strikes. You gotta play hyper defensive literally just sitting there and staring at them, waiting for an attack so you can master strike them. The AI knows that nothing else is effective too, so it does the exact same. Then youve got clinches, a surefire way to win any engagement because the AI have a way to counter them. Clinches give a single hit chance. So thats the strategy. Master strike, clinch, attack - repeat. It sucks. [link] [comments]

A great battle was raged here! Posted: 23 Jun 2020 10:02 AM PDT Or so the archeologists thought as they examined the forests outside Rattay. Little did they know it was in fact Henry, starting a new save and hunting rabbits with an overpowered bow. [link] [comments]

Poverty, Chastity, and Dumb Luck Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:14 AM PDT I'll preface this by saying I love this game and was actually looking forward to experiencing what is considered one of the most hated parts of the game (just to see if it's really that bad). I was having trouble with Karl's AI (already a bad start) so when I looked up a guide it said something about leaving your belonging in a chest to avoid a potential bug in the follow up quest. So I do that, get the writ and purse, and go to join the church. But I don't. You see I got a rare and extremely gamebreaking bug that doesn't allow me to interact with the chest to start the cutscene beginning my life as a monk. So I started to get a wee bit annoyed by this turn of events. By bit annoyed we all know that means booking it into the first open door of the monastery to stick a long sword up Pious' arse. However, I didn't realize he was going under some surname and I misclicked with my blade drawn searching for him. As it turns out, I killed Pious! However, I want to know, am I really missing out on much? And I have a feeling Radzig won't like this turn of events but will it have far reaching consequences with my relationship to him? Anyway, mandatory TL;DR: Bugged game ended up not mattering since murder was the answer all along. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 09:19 AM PDT I finished the game today. Overall I liked it a lot just based on the premise and the creativity and the braveness (can't think of the right word) with which they executed it, in sense that you can feel they did what they wanted with the game without paying attention to pandering to the audience to make it popular. It was a bit hard to get into at first but once I had everything figured out it really sucked me in. There came a point where henry just became too OP and I felt this happens fairly early into the main questline (about 40-50 percent). This kinda ruined the fun of combat as I could kill everyone at Vranik singlehandedly but after slaughtering everyone there I felt bad and loaded my save and sneaked out cause I'm a sucker for immersion. There seems to have been a fair amount of effort put into making the combat realistic and supposedly deep but it is very 1 dimensional as the enemies block 99 percent of your regular strikes and the only (reliable) way to get them is riposite followed by combos or clinch followed by combos. It is surprising superficial even though it seems complicated at first when you dont know riposite. I feel like it would be so much better without riposite or if it only happened rarely and striking was dependent on timing your attacks well. Bottom line combat sucks once you get past starter gear and learn skills from the old dude at rattay. I guess it probably sucks before too since its the same mechanics but I just thought that was us being a weak peasant. The realism side of the game was done really well without becoming too tedious, like hunger, sleep, poisoning etc and all the side things like skill/traits, hunting, gambling, getting gear and repairing it and all the little things that would've made you go "wow that is so cool" in any other game but becomes the norm with this one because thats how good it is. Very nice characters with personalities, good voice acting, beautiful music and the dialouge options are done pretty well too. Most of the time he says what I was thinking instead of some totally unrelated bullshit like in mass effect. The graphics are gorgeous and its nice my piece of shit laptop could run them at medium with reasonable frames per second. The map is very well done and actually feels like a huge place as long as you don't fast travel every chance you get. Theres also so many things to do while roaming the map. Most of the quests are fucking tedious though. At first I was okay with it because we are after all just a peasant so you gotta put your work in but when theyre making me ride half the map to get stuff for them from an inn even though I'm a noble's son I'm like wtf bro go get it yourself. The game really starts to drag after a while with the investigative/fetch quests and never really picks up even at the end. So I ended up dropping the game for a couple of months and came back after seeing some gameplay that made me interested again. I guess if you're playing it like a zen truck simulator type deal I can see how you can get through it but even then the game punishes you for not paying attention and being a sorta completionist I can't leave it like that. There are some major issues as everyone knows with a couple of key scenes like the first bandit camp at Pribitz and the sneaking into the castle scene. I'm surprised they haven't fixed them yet. I wish we had a bigger part to play in things other than be an errand boy for most of the game and deal with minor thugs and lords. I was hoping we would atleast fight the bald prick who killed our parents by the end of the game but we never see him again except in the cutscene. Which leads me to the ending. The ending was a major let down for me. We don't even get to kill Toth and who gives a fuck about Toth? We dont even fight him or get our sword back. I didn't care much for the sword anyway but come one, give me something. For a game thats this long and tedious you'd expect to get some sense of completion once you get to the end but nope, its just a segway into the next game, which hasnt even been announced yet. The final battle kinda sucked too and I was fighting a bunch of guards and suddenly it cuts to the cutscene and I've teleported to the inside of the castle. I felt like it would've been much cooler if we had progressed into some higher level gameplay loops involving more fights and plotting to kill nobility or involving bigger scale characters than the ones we meet withing 2 hours of the game. I know it seems like I've criticised the game more than I've given it credit but don't get me wrong I liked it a lot, its just got a lot of issues. Still, we have to give major props to Warhorse for making something this original and creative and having the balls to stick to their vision till the end instead of selling out. Maybe if they were a bigger studio all this wouldve been dealt with but maybe then this kind of game wouldn't have been made in the first place. I don't know why I wrote such a big review for a subreddit, guess I just got too much time on my hands. Anyway that's my views on the game and what could've been improved. [link] [comments]
Went on a small rampage in Rattay Posted: 23 Jun 2020 02:57 AM PDT If anyone is curious, it is quite possible with an end game Henry to go on a 142 kill streak in Rattay in mid day. Quite fun.. The only ones alive due to invincibility were Sir Hanush, Sir Radzing, Captain Bernard, and Master Feyfar. The first one I killed was the Rattay tailor(for obvious reasons), and the last I killed was the Rattay armoursmith cause he ran fast and I had to hunt him down. [link] [comments]

Why is it impossible for Henry to win 99% of clinches? Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:16 AM PDT Even with max level defences, warfare, strength and the clinch master perk Henry hardly ever wins any clinches? Is this some sort of bug? [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Jun 2020 04:18 PM PDT I'm about 60hrs through my first play through. I've been taking my time, messing about with side quest and making money etc. I've only just completed the bandit/cuman camp mission. Henry is an absolute beast. Near maxed out, I love the different perks. My next play through I've decided to do a Drunk Henry...just rely on drinking. My current one is a non-drinker. Anyway I was thinking about bow perks. I feel not putting bow perks in the game was a mistake. The could have added a few good ones. Of course they'd have to rework the entire bow power scale. But as a fun discussion I thought it'd be cool to see what sort of bow perks people would put in the game. Here are mine: Natural Bowmen: plus 2 to bowskill minus 2 to all other weapons. minimum level 5 Fletcher: Can design and make arrows, requires Natural Bowmen. (This would kind if work like the alchemy bench. Choose arrow shafts, different feathers, arrow heads etc.) Minimum level 12 Fast nocking: Henry nocks and draws arrows 15% or 20% faster but bow power is reduced 15% or 20% (Not compatible with long draw) minimum level 10 Long draw: arrows fully drawn are 15% more powerful but nocking is slightly slower. (Not compatible with Fast nocking) Tight spot: If Henry has his bow equipped and an enemy is with melee range, Henry will draw his dagger in his off hand to defend himself. (Basically this would be like a masterstroke block thing, sometimes I get jumped by enemies mid draw or after loosing an arrow so a quick option to do a cool dodge and stab with a dagger basically, if you time it right) minimum level 15 [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 06:13 AM PDT Hey guys I just purchased KCD and I am wondering if vortex works with mod implementation now? From what I've found online it seems like vortex had trouble being the mod manager for this game. Any hints? [link] [comments]
I think my Henry might be slightly OP... Posted: 22 Jun 2020 03:28 PM PDT I've been playing the game on hardcore and I've slowly been training up my skills, as one does. I can't tell you how many real world hours I've trained with Captain Bernard and I was able to beat Runt without much issue. Well, just for funsies, I decided I was gonna slaughter as many people in Sasau as I could before the guard killed me. I thought I'd manage to kill five or six. NOPE! Everyone. I managed to kill everyone without dying or cheesing the game. I eventually started wandering around trying to find a guard still alive so I could turn myself in and see if my stats were high enough to skillcheck my way out of the mess I made, and there was no one left. Henry of Skalitz, 1403 spec ops over here...I reloaded the game afterwards, because I didn't really want to ruin my play through, but damn if it's not satisfying to know that Henry is damn near invincible at this point. Is there a way to complete Womans Lot (Theresa) without getting the infinite loading screen? Posted: 22 Jun 2020 11:49 PM PDT So basically I already went through this questline but unfortunately the game had an infinite loading screen as Theresa's storyline came to an end and it also corrupted about the past 5 hours worth of saves. So is there a safe way to getting the quest to complete? [link] [comments] |
