Things got way too hot during a robbery. How can I atone for this?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 12:26 PM PDT

So I've been playing an "Ironman" game of KC:D. No reloading saves, and whatever happens, happens. I haven't even spoken to Sir Radzig yet, instead preferring to run around the countryside completing side quests, learning about alchemy, digging up treasure, and, most importantly, stealing.

I was in Rattay to do a job for the miller: Steal a land deed from the Rathaus. Seemed like an easy job, even though for roleplay reasons I'd been putting it off until Henry had learned how to read so he could identify the thing. I traveled into town, drank a Bard Potion to talk my way out of the inevitable stop-and-frisk, and headed over to the alchemist's to brew various potions in his backroom until night had fallen. I figured it'd give me the perfect window to sneak into the Rathaus unseen.

I have to emphasize I'd done a lot of robberies already, and even at the inns I'd burgled, people wouldn't move around much after closing time. Up the stairs I went at midnight and broke the lock on the door. But no sooner was I in than I heard footsteps from outside, and it sounded like they were heading my way.

The Rattay Rathaus' entrance is at the end of an enclosed passage. There was nowhere to hide or retreat to. I tried going forward, but the next room was a brightly lit hall with zero cover. Out of options, I tried to hide in the front door's blind spot. But of course, when the guy opening it came in, he closed it behind him, turned, and saw me.

I panicked and stabbed him with my dagger. Only then did I realize he was the armorsmith's apprentice, the same guy who'd sold Henry most of his armor for a very reasonable price. I had a business relationship with this man! Dismayed and disgusted, I ineptly hid his body behind the door to the next room and headed up, resolving to at least get the damn deed so this whole sorry excursion wouldn't have been for nothing.

I found it and headed out. Only then, the damn door opened a second time and a townswoman came in and spotted me! I didn't know what to do. And then she spotted the apprentice's body. So... I had no choice. I couldn't let her leave. It was kill again, or Henry's own execution.

Utterly shocked at this point, I fled the scene. Needed to find a nonobvious way out of Rattay, as the alarm would surely be raised soon. I snuck through the streets, evading the patrols, until at last I found a Murphy door in the city wall. Hope rose that at least this job couldn't get even worse. And then I opened the door and found a third person, a guard, blocking my escape route. He was facing away from me, but as I snuck up to him to knock him out, I found he was a little glitched and standing in such a way that I had to bump into him to dislodge him. Which, of course, let him see me. So out the dagger came for a third time.

In game terms, I got away clean. Nobody knows it was me. In RP terms, Henry just committed a triple murder – his first time killing on the job – for this bloodsoaked friggin' land deed and 125 Groschen from the miller. How can he possibly atone for this? One idea I had was to make him pay an indulgence in every town with a church he visits, from now until the end of the game, to pray for their souls.

Thanks for reading. I know it's just a game, but I'm genuinely pretty shocked IRL by how disgustingly wrong this went. Do you guys have any suggestions?

How to talk to the Custodian during In God's Hand?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 04:50 AM PDT

I've been trying to work out how to complete the optional objective in this mission, "Find out how to get better conditions for the sick". The quest marker currently points at Brother Nicodemus, but I've completed all his dialogue options, and nothing has changed. I think it's supposed to switch to the Custodian after speaking with the Brother, but nothing changes. I don't have the option of speaking with the Custodian either.

How do I get past this point?

I'm on my second playthough and was really looking forward to the mysterious ways mission with the priest in uhzhitz, I get there and ask him about lubosh and this happens, the main part of the mission triggers when you fail to persuade the priest to tell you straight away, but though a combination of perks and skill I successfully charisma the answers out of him and I don't get to do the church or the tavern scenes that where my favourite part of my last playthough

Why do I never land when fighting people?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 04:22 PM PDT

I don't think im early game and combat feels like its getting significantly harder.

Nothing I ever throw lands, and the enemies absolutely grind down my stamina until I can't block anymore. It could be because I'm not dodging enough as I much prefer reposting but I get absolutely handled.

What am I doing wrong? As I said everything I throw gets blocked, and I get absolutely beaten into the dirt by the AI. It feels like they don't even have a stamina bar and when I do counter them in the midst of their 4 strike combo I usually just get blocked numerous times. For reference this is in the Rattay tournament that im getting fucked on so hard in

Xbox one : Accidentally deleted my saves

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 03:05 PM PDT

I was getting into the game and had a good 8 hours in when I realized how many old saves I had in my game. I deleted all of them and tried to fast travel back to the rattay mill to save, except I was stopped by bandits and was killed. Because I had no saves, it wouldn't let me "continue" and the only thing I can do is start a new game. Is there any way to get back my lost progress?

[Help Needed] A Needle in a Haystack

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 03:49 PM PDT

Just completed the most frustrating mission thusfar in the campaign. I opted to take Pious into the Bailiff in Rattay, who said he'd have my stuff brought back.

My question is... where is it? I went to the presbytery, nothing in there. I'd really like my stuff back...

    I can’t progress the story! (PS4)

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 04:09 PM PDT

I go to watch the trebuchet test scene, and I am left with cut scenes, but once those finish i'm left with an infinite load screen. My new objective updated, but I stay in the load screen. I've fought this the last day and a half, and hell, I even left it on all night and still to no avail. Is there any work around here? I would love to finish this game, i'm all for the story. Thanks folks

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 04:04 PM PDT

Been playing on high settings very well on my ryzen 5 3600, 2060 super 8gb, 16gb 3600mhz ram and SSD. However noticed in Rattay it'll feel laggy at times and stutters however my fps never drops?
