Game too easy? Want more immersion? Try this:

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 03:12 AM PST

    https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/651?tab=description

I found hardcore mode too easy after 70-80 hours of gameplay. This mod has been a godsend. The mod (actually a collection of mods) deserves more attention imo. It makes the game insanely immersive and it's very stable, works with the latest patch. The only one I've found that is.

These changes won't be appealing to people who play on normal difficulty and fast travel everywhere. You'll need to eat plenty every day, the UI is completely disabled, the combat is overhauled, all the money-making exploits seem to have been fixed, and you really have to prepare before travelling.

    Combat:

    - Slightly shorter Perfect Block window and significantly shorter Master Strike window for Player.

    - AI Master Strike and Normal Block probability lowered, raised Perfect Block and Dodge probability.

    - More aggressive AI (AI max attack delay and delay increase per attacker lowered significantly).

    - AI is much better at clinching. Clinch perk only gives 10% bonus rather than 40%.

    - Headcracker perk probability halved.

    - Damage increased by skill halved.

    - Armour force field decreased. Less armoured areas more vulnerable.

    - Armour status effect on defense values slightly decreased (especially for Normal Mode).

    Regeneration & Digestion:

    - Injuries and serious wounds heal a lot slower.

    - Food and especially potion healing takes much longer.

    - Hunger and fatigue rates increased, so you'll have to eat and sleep more often.

    - Contemplative perk now lowers exhaustion and digestion by 10% instead of completely disabling them.

    - Revenant perk regeneration is 10 times slower.

    Carry weight:

    - Carry weight increase per strength level lowered to 1 from 4.

    - All Mule perk effects lowered by 10.

    - Horse saddle carry weight halved.

    - Heavy Duty Pony perk gives 10% bonus rather than 20%.

    Others:

    - Vendors will give you a significantly lower amount of groschen for your items when you try to sell them.

    - Dirt applied slightly slower than default.

    - Troughs can now clean you 95% rather than 80%. No more damned dirty helmets!

    - NPC and player base armour equalled. NPCs have more and Player has a lot less compared to the default values (more than a deer, but less than a boar).

    - All NPC classes have higher item health; NPC armour less damaged (randomly generated enemies will be better equipped), tailors no longer in tattered clothes (this was fixed for tailors and other high status civilians in the base game version 1.9, but my values are a little bit higher still), etc.

    - The in-game clock has been remade to reflect medieval standards of timekeeping which divided day and night into 12 hours each, between sunrise and sunset and vice-versa, with the hour lengths depending on the time of year. The eight canonical hours have been added in Latin, signifying the hours of bell ringing and when you were expected to say prayer.

    - Polearm skill shown and polearms sold by blacksmiths.

    I'm doing a peasant run

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 07:56 PM PST

Henry wakes up in Rattay mill as weak as a kitten from being beaten nearly to death. He's lost two entire weeks sleeping and needs to get prepared to go to Skalitz because that's his home. He needs to see it, find what remains of Bianca to give her a proper burial, then find a priest to consecrate her and his parent's graves. What kind of man would he be to turn his back on them?

First, he needs to pay his debts to the apothacary and to Miller Peshek. Then he needs to get food, drinking water to refill from rivers and wells, and some groschen for the road. He's under no illusions that it will be an easy walk home, or that the roads will be kind, but he'll do what he has to to get there.

How I'm playing: no main quests. I don't go see Radzig, get a horse, or get trained by Bernard.

I'll be avoiding most quests just because Henry is just another peasant and the world doesn't revolve conveniently around him.

I have done the Peshek quest to get the ring so he'd teach me to pickpocket and so I can sell to the millers. Henry has nothing and can't be sure he won't need to break the law a little bit.

He'll walk everywhere because that's what normal people do.

Henry knows the entire map so well because his father would take him on trips to train other blacksmiths on the art of weaponsmithing as a means of getting more income. So he knows which roads are most dangerous and will avoid them.

I won't be teaching him to read. Not now anyway, I'll see what he does once he gets to Skalitz and realizes he can't stay.

I'm playing on Hardcore Mode with Claustrophobia, Nightmares, Numbskull, Somnambulant, and Tapeworm.

    I'm bringing Mutt with me.

No getting treasure from interesting sites. Anything like that would have been raided long before I arrived.

Henry has been gifted with the ability to see the future. It's like he's really there, and he's learned that these visions always end in his own death. They only come to him when he regularly imbibes on Saviour Schnapps, so he never goes long without a drink. He can't be sure that the visions are real, but he always avoids the 'threat', just in case. Better safe than sorry. He keeps this ability to himself. Everyone, including Bianca, believed he actually enjoyed the taste of Saviour Schnapps.

    Edit:

I'm not looting murdered corpses of all their armor because they stink of death and are covered in blood and shit. Imagine the process stripping them and how disgusted you'd be. Then you'd need to wash it by hand. Then wear it knowing where it came from.

No looting coin from murdered corpses. The murderers, usually bandits, would have gone for the coin purse first, then they'd have taken any chalices or other things that sparkle. I do this because I want to stay poor and having groschen ruins the need to survive on my own.

Weapons are up for grabs unless I judge with my blacksmith's eye that it's really expensive. Then I add it to the sparky loot list a bandit would have taken. Plus, high end weapons usually require more strength than I have. Also, I can only carry one sword, axe, etc, and one bow with a limited amount of arrows.

I just started but I'm eager to see how this works out. So far I've really gotten to appreciate the beauty and detail of this world which is what I feel like I miss when I'm speeding through the map on Agro. I wanted a more raw experience. And because of my restrictions, I expect I'll get killed a lot and spend plenty of time in jail for theft. Should be fun.

    Are dead people disappear?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 09:56 AM PST

    Hi,

I have a question. I killed a major of Rattay. In his bed. And I returned to him a few times and every time when I was there, the body was too. If I woke up npc's the were always screaming about the murder. even after my two weeks in jail. So. Will he disappear and eventually respawn or I need to kill some goats and drink their blood. And please, no spoilers in comments. That's my first playthrough.

I'm about to buy KCD but...

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 09:42 AM PST

I read some reviews about the game and they say the game has some serious bugs and some of them even breaks quests in a way. They are actually not recent reviews so I wonder if they did fix those major bugs/issues in the game yet? No wonder I will not regret buying it but those technical issues people used to mention kinda pushes me away. Hope the game is playable and fluent at the moment. So guys, what is the KCD's technical status atm?

    Thanks in advance.

    Gameplay changes for returning player

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 05:54 AM PST

(Reupload due to forgetting to flair it)

    Hoi hoi,

I played KCD when it came out for about 82 hours. Almost finished the game but sadly ran into a game breaking bug which prevented me from advancing in the story. Got mad and left the game.

I fired it up back on sunday and had an absolute blast so far. I finished Theresa's storyline on what happend in Skalitz from her point of view (don't know if there's more to this DLC, maybe there's more when I reach the hospital part with Johanka again)

I would like to hear what you guys changed on your second playtrough. I was mostly hunting wildlife and selling it, making potions and using sword and shield for combat.

I'm thinking about either going a more thief like way using a bow and stealing my way trough the game or go 2 handed weapons. Are there also any specific mods that you like and would recommend?

The greatest game I’ve ever played

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 09:25 AM PST

I've played a lot of RPGs. My favorites being elder scrolls oblivion and fallout 3. I found this game after finishing the Witcher 3, and needed something to fill the void after finishing such a great game. I never thought I would stumble across something like this.

The problem is I don't want it to be over. I'm starting on the siege mission and it is really bothering me how I won't be able to experience anything like the immersion this game has brought me again.

I am a console player so I don't get access to any of the mods and things that might extend the enjoyment I get out of the game. Anything I can do for my love for this game to not have to come to such an abrupt end?

Question about combos I can perform

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 03:55 AM PST

Hi, I'm new in this game. There are bunch of combos for sword, half for short sword and half for longsword. There are not enough skillpoints for both so I must to decide. And I don't understand how should I decide.

I didnt find a strict answer for my question here or in other discussions: but the questions is can I use a longsword combo with a short sword and counterwise? Why I'm confused: the very first combo you learn from the quest I can perform with my sword which is as short sword due to description, however a tooltip for this combo says it's for longsword only. Thus I'm very confused. I don't even know yet how different are these swords gameplaywise (and which one will I use), and I dont get should I pick combos for specific sword type or just by what they do (the only example I have confuses me), It's also sad I can not test combos normally before learning them.

So how do they work and what should I pick?

Looking for mods to help on the next playthrough

    Posted: 12 Feb 2020 07:29 AM PST

I handicapped myself on my current HC playthrough by limiting myself to only light armor, which helped immensely! However, after this playthrough (and a break while a play other stuff and recharge my need for "hey henry is here") I need something more.

I could add to my handicaps by just not using certain features of the game, but I'm hoping there are good mods that will help instead.

Please let me know if there is a good, updated, stable mod that can give me:

-A reason to use combos: I love the idea of combos, back when I was a little kcd nub I practiced and practiced with Bernard until I could pop combos off reliably... and then never used them again because a sick pesent clothed in soiled undergarments can just run up and master strike me every time I try and combo. Ideally this would be a combat overhaul that not only nerfs/eliminates master strikes but scales damage so that just doing a single whack with a weapon is mostly ineffective against heavily armored opponents and significant damage can only be done through combos.

-Nerf bows vs plate armor: maybe just raise the piercing resist a bunch? Currently it is pretty easy for me to take down multiple plate tanks with a cuman bow and 14 bow skill. Two shots center mass. I like being able to thunk down the hoards of polearm wielding peasants with my bow, makes sense. When the plate tanks come charging I feel like they should be pretty much invulnerable to Henry's pot shots unless I make a shot to an open face.

-Stealth and lockpick caps or rebalance: Once I got over 10 in each of these the game is only challenging in any way if I choose to let it be. I can steal, murder, and wipe out any city or camp I choose without ever being seen. Having very hard chests not ever be pickable by my dumb peasant Henry would eliminate some cheese that always tempts me.

-No magic trunk: The game is pretty realistic in many ways, but wtf is this magic trunk doing portaling all my stuff through a enchanted wormhole to other magic trunks in every city. Establishing myself in each new location should be a challenge on its own. I should have to buy and shlepp all the gear and supplies I need when I get a room in a new location. Ideally trunks would also have a cap on storage too, one full set of armor and weapons( plus some other miscellaneous items) should max out Henry's trunk. No more storing all the gear needed to outfit an entire 100 man army in a single trunk. This should only apply to Henry's trunk since it could otherwise be game breaking.

-Increased speed/stamina effect based on weight carried/worn: Plate armor is beastly good, but it should significantly slow down and reduce stamina of Henry and AI. Sprinting in plate armor should be near impossible. In general carrying lots of gear should slow you down more. If I am trying to run away with 3 full sets of armor and weapons I just looted making we sweat for it.

There are other mods I need, but those ones I have already found good versions for. Also I appreciate any suggestions that improve immersion, realism, and the challenge of the game. ( I did see the thread with an overhaul mod and put some of those on my list).

    Jesus christ be praised!

"If it was up to me I'd send you to the chopping block!"

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 06:06 PM PST

Every one loved my Henry and would praise Jesus at my arrival. Until one fateful rainy day (just now) I accedentaly ran over a beggar with my horse. Suddenly I am wanted in Rattay, pribyslavitz, and Skalitz. No more "hey henry is here" for a while... just rude guards telling me they wish they could execute me :(

Help me I'm an addict. Farming bandits/cumans in Skalitz is practically a free money cheat.

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 12:41 PM PST

    • Go to Skalitz.
    • People are there fighting each other.
    • Wait for one group to win.
    • Drink a Schnapps and then Aggro the survivors.
    • Either kill them or make them run out of Skalitz to chase you. They won't return, once you lose them they'll wander off and eventually just vanish.
    • Go into Skalitz and load yourself and your horse down with tons of loot. Protip, pay less attention to overall value than to value per pound of weight in order to max your profits. For example, a Patched Hose that is worth 60 coins and weighs 1lb. (60 coins/lb.) is better than a hauberk that is worth 500 coins and weighs 21lbs. (23.8 coins/lb.).
    • Go to the edge of the woods to the north and farm Belladonna from the woodland garden there.
    • Drink a Schnapps and Fast travel to Rattay.
    • Buy/Use repair kits on whatever you have high enough skill for. Having the merchant repair things you're going to sell is a net loss
    • Sell your shit.
    • Make between 3k and 10k coins per trip, depending on drops and horse capacity.
    • Brew more Schnapps.
    • Go to sleep and repeat the next day. You can do this literally daily.

I'm now extremely rich, but I feel slightly dirty and cheap. I'm not supposed to be this loaded this early in the game.

I'm having a lot of trouble learning combos. Not sure I'm doing it right.

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 01:13 PM PST

I passed Bernard's combo training by accident. I have no idea how I successfully did the combo, but it took like 15 minutes of him yelling at me to "hit him three times!" I was trying, but he'd yell at me after I only clicked twice. I ended up just clicking a bunch and eventually the combo fired.

He instructs you to wait until one blow lands and then immediately strike again. So does that mean I wait for the attack to hit the target before clicking again, or is it when the center of the reticle flashes white, or do I just do it as fast as I can?

Also, is it true that any miss, block, or dodge interrupts your combo? If so, wouldn't that make combos incredibly difficult and rare to pull off? I've never had a fight where I hit the opponent three times in a row without them blocking once, and it looks like some combos require 4 or 5 uninterrupted hits. Add to that the fact that it has to be from specific angles in a specific order, and I'm feeling discouraged just thinking about it.

I have yet to successfully do any of the combos on purpose. Is there any way to practice just the timing, without worrying about him blocking or dodging? I think there need to be target dummies in this game.

    Internal clock

    Posted: 11 Feb 2020 03:31 PM PST

I'm thinking about getting this game and I heard that there is an internal clock, and that you can miss side quests just because you aren't in the right place at the right time. Does this clock run when the game is not running or when it is paused?
