Open Letter from a Newcomer to this Game

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 09:25 AM PST

So as of writing this, I'm 24 hours into the game; just made it to Uzhitz with my new horse Pebble. For context, the past few months have been rather rough for me irl and I apparently got diagnosed with PDD (Persistent Depressive Disorder), but I've gotten around to picking up a new hobby of reading and studying medieval history to sort of occupy my thoughts with better things. In that regard, I decided to pick up KC:D and well, for the first time this year, I can say I'm happy. Just having the chance to walk around Medieval Bohemia, learning about the world with Henry, and just taking in the sights really helped me out as a person. It really is a breath of fresh air compared to other video games where I get so inundated with quests and combat - but in KC:D, I find that what I enjoy most was just talking with NPCs, taking a walk in the woods, and ultimately just having the time to think of how I (Or Henry, I suppose) fit into this whole world. KC:D has proven itself to be more than just a game for me - it's art, education, and ultimately, a helping hand, so I just wanna say thanks to the people and the community who have made this experience possible. Jesus Christ be praised, my dudes.

After discovering the hunting mechanics I remember dissapearing into the woods, fighting a bunch of bandits and meeting an old woman who sold some strong poison. I ran a very dirty build. Runt didn't stand a chance after the first few swings.

If I apply Marigold decoction to my sword, will it heal enemies as I hurt them?

Can't repair items at shops? (NaNM bug)

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 07:53 AM PST

(Xbox) For some reason, when I go to a shop to have someone repair my equipment, it doesn't work. I can't select any or all of the equipment to be repaired, and the "price you pay" area just says "NaNM."

I've only found one or two things about this online, including a previous reddit post about it but I haven't been able to fix the issue with their suggestions.

It wouldn't be a huge deal, but some of my items are too damaged to repair with a kit, so I'm not sure what to do at this point. Help or suggestions are appreciated!

I’m confused on how damage works in this game, and could use some clarification.

I just saved Hans Capon from the cumins after he ran after a boar. In the fight, my right leg was damaged and bleeding. I had to use 4 bandages to stop the bleeding, but I was still limping and moving very slowly.

Why was I still limping after using the bandages?

Are "bleeding" and "injured" two separate things?

It took a lot of bandages to stop the bleeding. If I get into a big fight and win, will I just die if I don't have like 10 bandages on me?

How do I fix my leg (stop moving so slowly) if the bandages won't do it? Do I have to slowly limp all the way back to a town, or is there an item that can fix it for me temporarily?

    Thank you for any responses!

    Old straw, pestilence bug?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 01:00 AM PST

I'm doing the quest pestilence and when you walk into a certain house it triggers a cutscene and a man named old straw starts yelling at you about his son and wife, you then have the option to try to talk him down or intimidate him, hes has 9 to my 13 charisma and I have 15 to his 14 toughness....

The problem is that I've tried loading over 10 times now to try to win the persuade and every time i fail even tho i have a higher score than him. Is this some kind of bug or is he always supposed to not care what you have to say? And if that's the case why even make an option if it doesnt matter and just makes you look rep?

Any info on the subject would be awesome and thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Just how hard is hardcore mode?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 08:10 PM PST

I'll be going into my second playthrough, and I'm considering trying hardcore mode. How different is it, and what are the perks I should pick to have an easier time?
