Kingdom Come: Deliverance is the probably the best game I've played this decade, and here's why. Posted: 07 Dec 2019 01:33 PM PST So, we're getting toward the end of the year, and the end of the decade, even, and this game has just been amazing from the day I bought it, and I very nearly didn't get it. I've played some epic games this decade, too many to list here so I'm going to break down into the bits I love most. First, massive props to the devs, the game was released in a Skyrim state of bugginess, but there were a number of early patches that fixed large chunks of the game. Ok, in the beginning I had to restart the game a few times, but we got there eventually. Warhorse studio have avoided the fate of so many devs who after release just forget about their games, or whore for the DLC. Second, it's been a long time since a game was a genuine challenge for me, even on normal Henry feels like an utter idiot with boxing gloves on. It comes down to you as the player to make up for his failings, of which there are so many. The game is really tough until you start levelling up, and it's not a predictable tough, to make a comparison to the market's darling, Dark Souls, within a few minutes, it's easy to spot the winning combination for DS, and then it's simply a case of rinse and repeat until you win. With Henry most fights are different and not that easy to predict, not to mention that when you stumble on multiple cumans/bandits you've got to pay attention to people coming up behind you. The game is utterly beautiful, by far the best looking PS4 game I've played, but as testament to the game the screens shown on here are only matched by those frome Elite: Dangerous. Part of the attraction to this game is it feels like I'm walking around the gentle rolling hills of Europe, I look at the countryside here and in the game, it's honestly breathtaking. Elite would have to bring being able to walk around on Earthlike planets to win this one. The map isn't huge, but it feels it. Because you aren't given a massively fast horse the second you start playing makes the game feel far more, well real. The shortened scales in Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim just rip that feeling of a large map out of the game. When you throw in that you need to eat and sleep? It just winds up the immersion, even when you get a horse, it's not super fast, you can't cross the map in minutes. So these are just my favourite parts of the game, there are still many more parts that all add up to an epic game that has given me the most challenge I have played recently. It normally takes adding other players to increase the challenge of a game. It even has replayability, I'm still playing this game after buying the week it was released. Only Elite, Skyrim and Kerbal have similar play times, and these are games I've owned for longer. [link] [comments]

Despite mod tools there don't seem to be any substantial new mods. Posted: 08 Dec 2019 03:57 AM PST It seems that despite the release of modding tools there have been no new releases of mods at all, merely updated versions of mods that were available pre-tools being released. Does anybody know why this is? Is there, simply, no interest in the modding scene for this game? If so, that's unfortunate and in my view proves that the modding tools should have been released much sooner when the hype for the game was at a high. [link] [comments]
I’m struggling with Master Strikes Posted: 08 Dec 2019 07:12 AM PST I've heard a lot of people on here complaining that master strikes make the game too easy but I'm finding them really difficult to do. I've unlocked them from Bernard but maybe 1 in 10 actually work for me and I've never been able to defeat anyone just off them, I'm on Xbox and use a long sword mainly, any advice?? A primer on KC:D economy: why you shouldn't bother selling anything ever Posted: 08 Dec 2019 07:08 AM PST Following up on some comments I made here, I thought some people may be interested in a bit more detailed explanation on the economy system in KC:D, so here it is. Let's start with some postulates: 1) Every major (with an amount of money large enough for you to care about) trader in the game stores his items and cash in trunks (note that trunks are not necessarily situated in the same building as the trader himself). 2) Each major trader has a fixed default amount of cash (and a fixed default set of items) that restocks on timer. These are hardcoded and don't change throughout the game. When a restock happens, trader's cash goes back to default amount and doesn't account for his current balance in any way (e.g. if he had 300 groschen pre-restock and his default amount is 1000, he will have 1000 groschen post-restock). Items restock happens in the same fashion. 2.1) Exception to postulate 2: if you transfer your items to a merchant in any way (sell them to him OR (and we will see why this method is superior) put them into his trunk directly), he can sell them to someone else. The cash he gets from selling your items is kept even post-restock. Note: merchants do not generate additional cash from selling their own default items, they have to come from you. Implication of postulate 1: if your lockpicking skill is high enough, every major merchant's money are as good as yours. Since other cash sources (small merchants, other sources) are negligibly small in comparison, we can think of total major merchants' cash balance as the whole economy cash balance, meaning that it's also as good as yours. Implication of postulates 2 and 2.1: merchants' cash restock and them selling your items are the only ways of cash infusion into the economy (i.e. generating additional cash that is not already present in the economy since in both cases it is pulled out of thin air) except (DLC spoilers!) fixed income from Pribyslavitz and some negligible sources. To get a better understanding of how this works, consider a closed economy at time t = 0 consisting of:
The argument can be easily extended to an arbitrary amount of merchants. The total cash balance of the economy at time t = 0 thus equals 0+1000+1000 = 2000. At time t = 1 the restock will happen. Now, Henry has 2 options regarding what he can do between t = 0 and t = 1: 1) Sell the maximum amount of items Merchant A and Merchant B can buy, being constrained by their respective cash balances. Henry receives 2000 total from sales, both Merchant A and Merchant B now have an equal amount of Henry's items they can sell. After restock at t = 1 the economy looks like this:
2) Steal all of Merchant A and Merchant B cash and items, put Merchant B items in Merchant A trunk and vice versa. Henry receives 2000 total from stealing, both Merchant A and Merchant B now have a shitton of items they can sell for additional cash (yes, you can put stolen items into their trunks and they have no issue with selling them; also there is no limit to how much you can put). After restock at t = 1 the economy looks like this:
Note that Y > X since we are not constrained by merchant's cash balance when putting items in his trunk vs selling them to him. In both cases we can repeat the process and you can see the pattern emerging. Main insights from this example: 1) Selling items to merchants is no different from stealing money from their trunks directly (profitwise, prior to them reselling your items). If all you care about is profit - don't bother selling anything. 2) Putting items into the merchant's trunk directly for him to sell them is superior to selling items to him since you are not constrained by his cash balance and there is no issue with stolen items. I hope someone finds this bit of information useful. If you have any further inputs on the topic - I'll be glad to hear them. [link] [comments]

An trick to farm money and equipment Posted: 07 Dec 2019 04:59 PM PST I'm new to the game just get it from HB, not sure if this is repost but I didn't see it in any article yet. Not sure if the trick is available all time, I just arrived Rattay. So I curious and go back to Skalitz, and there is a bunch of Cumans fighting different people. I waiting near by for an hour then go back there will be just die bodies with a lot of equipment. The first time I get 50kg of the equipments and sold for 3k, then I bought a horse, go back, get things worth than 20K( sold for maybe 5k) it's seems like every time I go back it's the same. I get a lot of money and late game equipment with no cost and risk. Will add the picture later. [link] [comments] |
