Posted: 20 Oct 2019 06:12 AM PDT I've been trying to just press q as soon as the attack animation starts, like I read on a thread a while back, but it still doesn't work. Is it just my lack of ability, or do you do it another way? [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Oct 2019 05:23 AM PDT I keep going to alchemists and scribes just for them to give me the good old 'are you pulling my puzzle!' Even if I haven't stolen from them directly they still won't train me. Is there a way of getting them to like me enough to train me again? I've tried going to jail but that doesn't work. Posted: 20 Oct 2019 09:50 AM PDT Hi, I am about 20 hours into the game, while it's nice, and a lot of stuff to do, the combat just seems to be impossible. The 1v1 fights are so hard, it's like I need to hit the enemy 20+ times before he dies. I finished the fight with Runt by cheating and using the arrow method, and now I reached the fight with Ulrich (the white mustache guy), and I just can't win it. He blocks everything, he does this special dodge when he also hit me with an unblockable hit. How do you win 1v1 combat in this game without using cheeky strategies like running and stabbing or quick arrow? [link] [comments]

40 hours in and no random encounters! (PS4) Posted: 20 Oct 2019 05:22 AM PDT Hi team! Literally title! I had a few random encounters towards the beginning of the game, then suddenly it's been totally flat. I didn't realise how much these encounters added to the game, but literally it feels a bit flat now with "safe" fast travel! Any help appreciated! [link] [comments]
Problem with NPC behaviour upon reloading savegame. Help or tips needed. Posted: 20 Oct 2019 08:46 AM PDT Hello! I just recently started playing. I waited this long to play KCD to avoid various bugs that were reported after the launch. Looks like i might not have waited enough. I'm in Rattay, at the point in the story after you fight with the asshole Hans over closing the tavern in the evening. Hanush comes around and forces me to go hunting with Hans in the morning. As i was returning to the mill to sleep, i decided to finish one of the Miller's stealing activities (get back the lost ring from the brothel/bathhouse keeper). I waited till around midnight, unequipped all the noisy armor etc, wore a dark thing to lower my visibility, crouched close to the building and saved the game. I approached the house from the path to the Rattay castle. I checked and double checked if everyone is asleep (there was no-one walking around, no movement whatsoever). While crouching, i moved towards the closest door on the ground floor and picked the lock. Picking the door didn't wake anyone up, i started going through the chests, making sure that there was no reaction to me stealing few items here and there. It went well, eventually i progressed to the point, where there were only two unexplored chests on the first floor, where some girls and a dude are sleeping. One of the chests had a hard lock (above my level/xp) and one was easy. Since the easy chest was the last one i haven't checked yet, i decided to save the game again. I opened the first-floor door and crouch-walked to the wodden balcony with stairs down. Still, everyone was sleeping and there weren't any signs of disturbance or that someone's after me. So i kept crouched on the balcony outside the room and drank the saving-schnapps. Then i crouched back inside (again, everyone was still asleep) and went after the last easy chest. Voila - there was the ring. Unfortunately something went wrong (i have no clue what, i was crouched, the lock-picking was succesfull at first try, i didn't bump into anything and i didn't make any unusual noise that i know about), and the girl that slept closest to the chest got up and started shouting. Nevermind i said to myself, that's what the saves are for. I loaded the save i made on the wodden balcony (before the screw-up). What a surprise, the save wasn't even fully loaded, and bells started ringing. When it finished loading, not only the bells were ringing, but the npcs in the house were all running around as if i saved the game only AFTER the alarm, not way BEFORE it. One of the girls was spawned directly in front of me instead of the bed she was in when the save was created. No matter how many times i tried, loading the save caused this chaos every single time. The save just completely screwed up the progress. So i tried to load the earlier save, the one i did before i even entered the house, the one where everyone was sleeping. I didn't get better results. The bells were ringing, everyone was running around in the house like crazy. It looks like some save-corrupting glitch or bug that causes that when you load a save, npc states aren't reset to the point they were in when the save was created. Eventually i found out, that if i quit the game and reload the save then, the bells aren't ringing anymore, but the npcs are still already alarmed anyway, and upon reloading again, even the bells come back. At this point, i have no clue what to do. I went even one more save back (right after the fight with Hans over the tavern closing), and tried to get into the bath house keeper's house from scratch again, but this time around, the npcs never go to sleep at all, they just keep walking around the house in cycles, changing their clothes into the sleeping shirt and back again. Does it mean that my saves are completely screwed at this point? Is this some kind of infectious save-leprosy that slowly fucks up first the saves, and then the entire scripting system in the game? I waited years for this game to avoid this exact behaviour and it's still there? Any tips on how to proceed are welcome. I play on PC/steam version. [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Oct 2019 08:26 AM PDT Does anyone have the issue with shields unequipping on their own? I feel like it's never there when I need it [link] [comments]
How is the optimization of this game today? Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:08 AM PDT Haven't played for like half a year and while some updates improved it, it was still just not as amazing as I was hoping. Has it improved? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Oct 2019 09:19 PM PDT Can you tell Theresa at all that Henry's father is Sir Radizig I'm curious? [link] [comments]

Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:34 AM PDT A video I recently saw brought up a valid point, that the game needs to have options implemented to replace reliance on hearing cues for those who might be unable to hear the game. I had thought a few days ago how helpful it was to be able to have my dog warn me about ambushes; imagine how hard the game would be without the audio for dogs, or walking guards, or shouting bandits! Additionally I didn't realize how difficult the menus might be to read in some cases, and also I have a colorblind friend who loves the game so that might need to be reviewed as well. If an official patch never comes out, hopefully mods can provide a solution. [link] [comments]
God I hate the save system so much Posted: 19 Oct 2019 04:51 PM PDT I get it, it's a good system and its applied well. But ive never felt so much rage while playing a game than to be ambushed by a random pack of cumans on my way to a bed and save just to be sent back 6 hours. I dont get angry often but I had to turn my xbox off and walk away after 4 hours of wandering around and picking flowers for alchemy. Combat is easy but against 6 cumans all in open forest? And of course a stray arrow hit pebbles as I made my escape and he bucked me off. TL;DR I'm upset because I refuse to drink saviour schnapps [link] [comments]
