Who needs a band of bastards when you have a horse and a mace?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 12:03 AM PST

Failed to convince Kuno, though i probably could if I tried but fuck him he's just a gold digger who cant survive without me babysitting him, I don't need them. Bonked the old guy in the head a few times, used savior shnapps, got on my horse and started hitting all the mercs like wackamole. Took all their shit and got 6k. I say this is an absolute win

How good and long is the DLC

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 01:26 AM PST

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on how much content can be derived from all of the DLC?

I'm new to the game so I haven't even played the free tourney DLC and I haven't bought the other DLC at all, so I want info on literally all the DLC even the free one

How many quests do they each add? How long are they? Are there more main, side and more or what? What kind of items might I unlock through the DLC that would be good?

Can you rank the DLC from best to worst and most content to least content?

    Henry's moral compass

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 09:57 AM PST

I really like the subtle morality system present in KCD. Most games give some degree of instant feedback to the morality of decisions. Furthermore, when games do NOT provide feedback to morality decisions, I as a player will typically take the most self-serving course of action. Admittedly, I do SOME of that in KCD. If I see unclaimed property lying around in town or near a home, well, it's not stealing to take it, so I take it. But there are many times when I control Henry according to what I deem morally right. And that led to a little adventure yesterday.

I was riding along between towns on Pebbles, and all of a sudden heard cries for help and saw a scuffle between some armed people and some unarmed people. I didn't want to make assumptions about who was doing what, and I'll be honest, the first thing going through my head is that it was a good hour since my last save. But another cry for help came up as I looked/contemplated, and yeah I had to check it out.

Dismounted Pebbles and approached, and immediately the armed group of people engaged me hostilely. There were, I think, three of them? Maybe four, not good, decently armed as I mentioned above. I had just uncovered the loot from the third treasure map, so Henry was well armed/armored himself. But all of a sudden I'm in a mad fight for my life. Maneuvering backwards, siccing Mutt on them, masterstriking as much as possible, blocking a lot. Looking for an opening and getting in a series of swings. Screen turning red. Bleeding sign displayed. It doesn't look good. But wait, I've been fighting, but they're showing less enthusiasm now after the master strikes and my own blows. Now there aren't three or four of them attacking me, just two. I hammer away at one of them, he's out of the fight, did he die or surrender or run away? I can't say for sure, I've gotta focus on this last one. Beat him down, wait, I still got hit by something else, oh an archer? Ran him down and just started hammering him. He curled up to surrender.

At that moment, I'm raging. I want to just kill the surrendered thug, take his stuff. I start pressing that mouse button. But the angel voice on my shoulder tells me not to. I don't need to take this life, however angry I may be. I'm sure my new armor is battered, will cost a fortune to repair, but I don't need to take the life. I talk to him. I let him go, though I demand that he hand over his money. I need something out of it. Now it's time to loot the ones I DID kill.

I...can't find any bodies. I search for several minutes, I finally find one body, but it's not a bandit, it's a trader. One of the guys who had been calling for help, he died. I don't honestly even know how many people had been calling for help. I'm pretty sure more than this one victim. I'm pretty sure I saved someone for all my effort, but I honestly can't be sure. But what I can say is I'm not gonna loot the trader. He wasn't my enemy, and when he's found by authorities and presented to his family, it's going to be with his possessions. I could have looted him, there's no one to have stopped me, and I wouldn't have gotten any bad guy points for doing so, but that's not the Henry I'm playing. My Henry tried to do the right thing, and even if it didn't end up as well as it might have, he survived to fight another day, and he really did do the right thing.

Just finished Baptism by Fire. Holy shit my body's shaking and not just from the biting winter cold.

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 08:09 AM PST

First skirmish against the bandit and cuman force and then picking out archers while destroying the gate with a battering ram. Finally the epic 1v1 against that fucking dog, Runt. I can feel the emotion of Henry, the rage at Runt still taunting right till the end coursing through me.

Bravo Warhorse bravo! If I wasn't a fan of this game already this quest would've been sure to convert me. Damn, so satisfying.

    DLC advice

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 05:28 PM PST

As a new player not very far into the game (current main quest mission is The Prey) should I play the DLCs simultaneously with the main quest, wait til I finish the main quest, or does it really not made too much of a difference

Can you get st George's sword from the tourney

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 03:10 AM PST

I'm on console so lockpicking is extremely difficult so I dont want to have to get it from the chest, and I read that after you get the full lords of Leipa set from the tourney you just get randomised gear. So I thought I'd ask if you can get st George's sword as part of the random gear

    Nest of Vipers stuck

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 03:07 AM PST

I didn't tell Lord Divish I was ready straight away as I had some other side quests and things I wanted to finish before the battle.Once I finished all my quests I went back to Talmberg to speak with him but I can't find him anywhere and there are no quest markers for Nest of Vipers.

    Has anyone had this before?

I have reloaded the game, multiple days have passed etc. I am playing on Xbox so no console commands. Just a bit gutted as I don't want to reload an old save because I did so much after I told LD I wasn't ready yet.

How bad is it to knock out people and steal their stuff?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 08:14 PM PST

I've only just started in the first city after the prologue. Wandering a path at night to explore around the mill I found a fancy pants local. He looked like he would carry a few groschen. I was in need of coin. I knocked out my first NPC and carried him off the path. He didn't die (I think).

    I was completely unseen.

Will I get bad karma or something? Will he come back to get me? How long will he be unconscious for?

(He was carrying about a thousand groschen and two devil dice?)

I didn’t know you could actually follow and keep up with hans in the hunting mission!

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 01:23 PM PST

On my third play through and never once have i had the cutscene where he gets dehorsed and you are right in combat. Always had to look for him. Goes to show how cool the game is and how much i suck. Funnily enough i did it because hardcore finally made me need a horse before the neuhof mission

Does the Masquerade side quest initiate if...

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 09:18 PM PST

I drive out Old Thomas from the mill by showing Jane the proof that he killed her brother? I read the wiki that Matthew and Fritz steal something from Old Thomas and run away somewhere. But since I drove out Old Thomas in "Is a Friend Indeed" will the next side-quest "Masquerade" happen?

I'm playing a different in the meantime so I'd like quick answers pls.
