Been playing recently and I have to say this. (Spoilers)

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 03:01 AM PDT

The mission with the priest where you go drinking and have to give mass the next day was hilarious, I was not expecting it at all, I find the game quite difficult when it comes to combat and such, but so far this game is amazing

    Xbox lockpicking

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 10:04 AM PDT

Somebody please help me with this. I've been trying to open an easy-level lock for the last one and half hours. I'm so frutrated that I wrecked my hand on the wall. Could anybody give me some tips on how to pick locks easier on console? I have the simplified lockpicking on.

    To hell with you, Johanka!

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 09:53 AM PDT

I bust my ass upp and down these forests, hills, and towns, fighting bandits and cumans along the way, just to take a load of your shoulders and try to save some lives. For god's sake I went to jail for standing up to you against that dick of a Custodian! All you can say about the situation and him is that he's "charming in is own way", and "at least he's been here the whole time".

You know what, Johanka? Screw you!

The bestest love in the game

    Ginger in a Pickle

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 09:44 AM PDT

Ok, so how exactly am I supposed to pull this off? Two bandits, very close together, they both 3 shot you individually. I can't see how I can do this, I mean really, either I'm absolutely atrocious at this game, or every fight In this game is unbalanced to all hell. (I'm going with the former.) Oh and stealth attacks don't do anything because they're always close together and one gets alerted, automatically killing you.

What KC2 and 3 Could Look Like: Promising Historical Scenarios For Henry (Spoilers!)

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 06:57 PM PDT

I finally got around to playing this. Like a lot of people, I was very put off by the slow start, the difficulty of the control scheme, etc. however realistic it might have been. But it grew on me, and I really did get into it. A typical arc for players of the game, I guess. As a historian (though I don't work on medieval Europe) I was also reasonably impressed with some of the attempts to be realistic or to educate players about the late medieval period.

Reading up on the history of Sigismund and Bohemia in this era, though, I really think the sequel possibilities are tremendously promising. I would hate to have to start all over again, or deal with the usual RPG contrivance of "Henry fell on his head and must relearn all his skills". I think that's easily avoided if they want to go straight from the end of the game, however.

If they send Henry and Hans Capon on to some kind of negotiation with Sigismund, Wencenslaus and Jobst, the two young men could easily find themselves caught up in the conflict with Ladislaus and Venice and then after that up to the Battle of Dobor in Croatia and Bosnia. There's a ton of complicated politics and some really ambiguous and dodgy situations that might let a player decide where Henry's loyalties really lie (and where his old life will come to seem very irrelevant)--it could be interesting if he has to decide whether to fight at Dobor for Sigismund or with the Bosnians for a conclusion of the next game. And they could easily let him retain his combat and life skills while making them substantially underpowered for the new stage he finds himself on--killing bandits and lost Cumans and convincing local yokels to do what he wants is nothing compared to fighting in actual wars around the Adriatic alongside hardened soldiers and trying to be persuasive in court intrigue or be stealthy alongside sophisticated thieves and spies in Prague or Venice.

And this could be a natural trilogy if they want to go on and have the third game be set in the Hussite Wars. If Henry's about 18? 19? in this game, he'd be about 23 or so by Dobor and then 33 by the conclusion of the Council of Constance. (They could even send Henry to Agincourt to fight with the English if they felt like it in between--it's not wholly implausible.) Having a weary middle-aged Henry have to make really hard decisions about the Hussite Wars could finish this series with its own Witcher 3 intensity and craft. Same thing again, too--there would be new skills he'd have to master in that completely new environment, the combat environment would be dramatically different and challenging in new ways, etc. while still allowing him to not have to start all over with getting his ass kicked by some snotty neighborhood boy.

    Grrrr

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 08:16 AM PDT

What 6 heavily armed bandits couldn't do, 6 farm hands and a dog could in less than a minute. The instant I got bit, I stood no chance. The combat auto camera swivel didn't help either.

Just started playing the game for the first time!

And then I got owned by Kunesh in the fist fight... He kept grappling onto me and kneed me in the face, hard to tell if I did any of damage to him.

It's a good game, I'm enjoying it so far. Cant find a way to save the game during prologue, how do I save? And any beginner tips I should know? Thanks!
