One thing I love about KCD: The Scale. Posted: 05 May 2020 01:48 PM PDT As I replay the game, one thing I do love about KCD is its scale. In most 3D RPG's the scale of the world is usually pretty heavily brought down. In Skyrim for example, Skyrim is actually quite small in terms of landmass though in lore it's actually supposed to be quite massive. Even in the Witcher with its great Novigrad city, even it is actually quite scaled down compared to what it is in the lore. Unlike those games, KCD however is not nearly as scaled down, and that's something I love. It represents a rather small part of ratfuck nowheresville Bohemia, and it's really amazing because of it IMO. It's not trying to show a massive kingdom which is thousands of miles wide, it's telling the story of a small part of Bohemia, which is already a very small part of Europe. I just think that's really neat. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 May 2020 09:26 PM PDT This game is actually amazing in all the right ways. A friend of mine recently recommend this came to me about a week ago because I went on this long rant about how I love For Honors fighting system. While the two games are innately different I can't deny that this is some of the most fun I've had with a game in a long time. The graphics don't load in all at once Wich leads to a bunch of floating heads in towns. And the combat is hard as all get out. But when I level up I feel like I'm actually getting better; and not that my numbers are being more numbery. I have to think about my dialog options, I have to consider what type of armor I have on, I have to think about what weapon I'm using, or how many people I'm fighting. It has a level of strategy and goofiness that I love so much. Sometimes it glitches, and some things feel broken. But I'm very happy with my experience and I'm even happier I got it two years after release so I can continue to enjoy it at a much healthier state. But anyway god be with you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2020 08:40 PM PDT The alchemy in this game is so good and so much fun. Having to follow a specific recipe, having to boil something just right and making use of the timer and everything is just so much fun. I love this game. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 May 2020 07:32 AM PDT What's a good spot for maxing out my combat skills? I already have 20 sword and agility but only 7 mace and 2 axe. I thought skalitz was full of bandits but I killed 5 and they don't respawn fast. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 May 2020 07:48 AM PDT I'm on the My Friend Timmy quest and it says "find the bandit camp". But there isn't a quest marker anywhere on my map. One thing to note is that I kind of messed up earlier. After speaking to the girl behind the windmill, and telling the bandits where Timmy is, I fast travelled to Rattay because it said to find them later and I planned on practising combat. This failed the quest. I have played about 3 hours of side quests since to level up and get armour and decided to continue the main quest. This is when I noticed it says "find the bandits camp" but there isn't a marker on my map for the quest. I dont know what to do... Is it bugged because I fast travelled away from the windmill? Help! All that glisters, where is Ulrich? (Spoiler?) Posted: 06 May 2020 10:16 AM PDT Hello! So I went to the silver mines alone and was able to persuade Jeschek to get locked up in a cell. But now Ulrich is gone?? He's not in the tavern in Sasau anymore. Where is he? Is he completely gone or will he join later on? I had to do it alone because he always just ran towards the camp, and I'm too overwhelmed by fighting more than one opponent, and always ended up with him dead. Alone I was able to trick them to leave camp and snuck into the cave. But where is Ulrich now??? Thanks for reading. :( [link] [comments]

Impossible to complete the first stage of the Run! quest. Posted: 05 May 2020 06:35 PM PDT Everytime I respawn for the start of the quest the Cuman who I believe from what I've already read and watched online is supposed to be behind me is in front of me, meaning that even if all I do is run and I go past him and sprint as long as possible he easily catches up to me and hits me, again and again until I die. I've tried jumping off the side of the path to get down quicker, I've tried standing and fighting with the sword (which whilst maybe possible if I could perfectly do every attack and block that's too difficult) but nothing I seem to do will let me survive this. The only save I can load for the start of the quest puts it in this starting position. I was enjoying the game up until this point, where now I'm not having any fun whatsoever and can't seem to advance in anyway. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 May 2020 05:49 PM PDT I can't do it. I'm level 9. Sword 6, warfare 5. I've tried with a mace too. Our fights are just me wailing on him constantly. I'll hit him with combos, preferring the ones that hit his head. I mic this up with a lot of stabs to the head. I land a hell of a lot of these. I try and fight really hard to lower his stamina, but then he'll just master strike me and I'm basically dead. I never swing from above as the master strike pretty much instantly ends the fight. I should be a good level as I've done tons of stuff, I haven't rushed through the game. Done loads of training and fighting but not deliberate grinding. He will literally just occasionally masterstrike me in between me continually battering him and that, over about 30 minutes, will eventually kill me. What am I doing wrong? Do I really have to go an break immersion and grind like fuck to level up enough? Or is the only way to do some walk cheesing with arrows that's even worse than grinding. How can a man take so many stabs to his bare face and not give up? Also, can he even be reasoned with at all before the fight? My speech stats are higher than his with a potion but it still doesn't work. Please help. Sorry for the rant but I'm on the verge of quitting completely. TL;DR: Ulrich is unbeatable for me, even though I think I'm doing everything right. I don't want to grind or cheese it [link] [comments] |
