    Not Again

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:57 PM PDT

I was really trying to play Henry as a honorable knight in my current playthrough, but you know how it is. It was late and I got bored so I ended up looting a few shops, killing half of Rattay's population along with the entire garrison of guards, and then finished the courtship quest with Theresa to put a cherry on top. It's just so hard to resist when they just showcase so many "free" skill points and groshens like that.

EDIT: I'm apparently not even considered a criminal in the town due to leaving no witnesses alive.

Mutt has vanished and life is ruined

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 03:40 AM PDT

So he was present and barking his little tits off outside of the monastery during A Needle in a Haystack. As soon as I completed the quest and finally left he was nowhere to be found. Obedience teeters between about 90-100 constantly.

I haven't told him to wait anywhere or sent him back to the mill, he just literally vanished off the map. Theresa doesn't even have any options about the dog. The last I saw him was about 20hrs+ back, so reverting to an old save is out of the question! I've regretfully been fucking around with mods, but everything pre 2020 is now gone and only recent stuff is active just for quality of life (unlimited saves, instant herb pick, wash deluxe).

Every time I hear a bark I'm hopeful it's him, but it isn't. Life just isn't the same without him, the little back up he provided was invaluable. I just don't miss him blocking doorways.

Anyone experienced anything similar? Seen posts about it, but from up to two years back so not sure if they still stand. Finally, will this cause problems with A Woman's Lot? Although I think that dog is different.

I should recover a certain necklace, but I killed everybody instead. DLC Spoilers ahead.

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 10:31 AM PDT

I was in the bandit's camp to recover Sir Hans necklace. Instead I ended up killing everybody there.

Nobody's got the necklace in them. There's a locked trunk, and it says it's too hard to lockpick.

Did I fuck everything up? What can I do?

I accidentally killed the entire joint Cumen/Brigand town and rested after the battle...

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 10:21 AM PDT

Hey all, well I was trying to scout this armed bandit town for Sir Radzig and, well, my Henry sucks at all things thieving so I got caught. I quickly equipped all my gear and ended up getting stuck down the well in the Cumen camp. From there I got dog piled on and had to kill every one of them at the same time, it kinda sucked.

My armor got completely trashed and even my ceremonial hammer got down to like 70%. Anyway, I was near dead when the final guy dropped, we were all tripping over bodies down in that well, it was hellish. My vision was red with blood and it was nearly pitch black as the last of them started dropping their torches into the water as they died.

After the last one finally dropped I used a bandage and drank a lazarus potion and then I did something dumb. I rested for an hour. I don't know why, I've never rested after combat before in this game. Maybe it was because of the red screen and I just thought resting was the right move? I've never really had a need to once I learned master parry. Anyway, I didn't realise resting removed all the bodies... So I came back an hour later (in game, not in real life though I could've used it after that adrenaline surge!) surrounded by dropped weapons, but not a single body, which I'm a bit upset over BECAUSE I'm pretty sure one of the last boofheads standing who was knocking my helmet damn hard was the massive armored douche who knocked me on my bum at the start of the game! I didn't see him in camp, but he had the same black look and was real hard to take down.

I didn't even get to confirm if it was him, or loot his corpse! Did I kill Runt in that battle and is he now gone for good?

So yea, I don't want want to do that fight again, it was pure chaos, took about 10 minutes and my hands are sore... but if I've effectively ruined my revenge by not even checking Runts body and giving Henry a chance to gloat... Then I guess I might have to? I don't mind missing out on the loot so much, I've not found better armor for some time, I think Henry is about as well equipped as he can be as I've already replaced most of the tournament armor, plus I've got 12k in the bank and nothing to spend it on. BUT, not getting fulfillment for Henry is almost to much to bear. :(

Also now that I've already killed the entire camp, what happens to the mission? I guess I ruined that too? Sir Radzig won't have to send his troops? Man, I feel stupid for not doing any of the thieving stuff to not work on his stealth. Maybe I should've just rode through the camp like a lunatic and got info that way! Haha.

Anyway, I saved and quit after that, it's time for a break, thanks for listening to my adrenaline fueled ravings/questions!

Oh, tldr version; did I kill Runt, did I ruin Henry's chance to gloat?

Screen flicker in low light/shadow areas

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 09:13 AM PDT

I'm encountering some visual issue with the game especially in low light / dark areas. When I move around the cursor, the whole screen flickers. If I don't move the cursor, the flicker does not occur. It become really perceptible in dense foliage or at night. The flicker is sometime so heavy that it cause brightness strobes and makes playing really uncomfortable.

I've looked around forums and all, no solution or improvements for my issue.

I've tried two different versions of the game, Epic and Steam, same issue.

I've tried lowering to the max and raising to the max the graphic options, same issue. Same for vsync, AA, resolution, HD texture and all. Motion blur on/off, no difference.

    I've tried with a 1060/1080ti/2x SLI 1080ti, same issue.

It does not happen in any other game that I've tried recently.

It does not seem to be linked to my monitor configuration.

I've no specific configuration in NVidia panel, I do not OC the computer or use custom tweak in user.cfg. I do not use Perf/graphic mods.

I've captured different the issue with my phone, not the best quality but the issue is clearly visible:

This game has alot of problems

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 10:08 AM PDT

Repost because it got removed for a flair, I'm ok for it being removed from something else but I'm not going down from my own stupidity.

And yes, I'm aware I am not very skilled. But 90% of my points still stand. Especially on the horse and lockpicking. Combats debatable.

    COMBAT

The combat is this game is fucking difficult. I keep doing what the other post said to do, clinches and master blocks etc. Doesn't matter. I go against a bandit on meth with no clothes and a broken twig. 9/10 he spams me. Like what the hell? Literally every time I go for a feint they just immediately hit me. Clinches aren't working at all. I use the perfect block, they literally go from stunned to blocking my attack. Like theres no animation or anything. Their hands just teleport with sword in front of mines like some sorta fucking anime scene. Going against one guy might be manageable, but going against 2? Lmao no. I tried that mission where you gotta kill 2 bandits for ginger. I constantly try arrows, they never hit the head and the whole point of realism is ruined if I just spam arrows. Even if I do, they both run at me faster than my fucking horse and spam me. I try backing up but I'm constantly fucking caught on some fucking slight bulge in a rock. They literally hit me 10 times in less than 5 seconds. I cant block both of them and they surround me. I finally get a hit in! Guess what? That naked bandit is apparently god. That blade that just went between his ribs doesn't affect him. Sure they'll hit me a handful of times and I'm dead that's fair. BUT I HIT THE FUCKS DOZENS OF TIMES AND THEIR HEALTH DOESN'T MOVE! I literally get in the fight and as soon as they both stare at me, I'll be dead within 8 seconds everytime all the time.

HORSES Jesus, this ones a fucking problem. The horses in this game have terrible controlling. On open roads it's ok. But in the hundreds of tiny twisty hill roads it's a fucking nightmare.

FOOD I'm sick of eating apples, I want a nice hamburger or something. Nah fr tho food expires so fucking quickly.

    DIRTY

Why the fuck am I always so dirty. I bathe, then walk down the road to rattay. Looks like I've been doing cartwheels in shit and mud for the last hour.

CAMERA The camera and lockon is ass. It's a necessity for this type of combat, but it's so poorly executed. It randomly locks on. Switching mid combat is a pain. Its constantly messed up.

    GLITCHES AND BUGS

This fucking things been out for 2 plus years. Has received millions in funding. How the fuck is it so buggy? These guys need more experience in making games or something. This was their big release, and it's worse than fucking Bathesda by a million. I can't go 20 minutes without some type of glitch or bug.

    SAVING

Savings system pretty annoying, its not terrible or pushing me away or anything though.

    .LOCKPICKING

    Oh My God

This shit is probably the worst thing besides the combat. On console bro. ON CONSOLE. IM BETTER OFF STICKING MY DICK IN THE LOCKING MECHANISM AND DOING FUCKIN CARTWHEELS THAN DOING ANYTHING OTHER THAN VERY EASY OR EASY.

    MONEY

Money is so easy to come by but also not. Idk how to explain it, probably just a me thing so whatever.

    THE FANBASE

The fanbase has alot of shitty people. Gaming elitist up the fucking arsehole. Like on some dark souls rainbow six shit. 80% of the responses are just "lmao haha player bad, git gud" or "This is the best game I have ever fucking played. The absolute colossal amount of brain cells that is required to throughly enjoy this absolute master piece is clearly beyond you. Go back to Skyrim, pleb." Fucking idiots use realism and Hal being a broke blacksmith apprentice as a cover for frankly some pretty shitty fucking designs.

If this game wasn't crowd funded, recieved alot more care and was published and made by a actually experienced studio if could've easily been one of the best simulator/RPG games ever released, if not the best. But it wasn't, and jesus fucking christ does it show.

This will probably get no responses and like 40 downvotes if it doesnt get auto banned or something lmao. Felt good to vent so idrc.

Dats bout it. Have a good day/night.

Slow texture loading all of a sudden

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 11:22 PM PDT

[PC] I played KCD around December of last year, now I am doing a new playthrough. For some reason textures are loading much slower, which is very annoying. I never uninstalled the game from my steam library and I am playing on the same PC as before. Was there an update recently that bungled things up again?

Bummed out by lack of Witch Potion possibilities (spoiler for anyone not aware of mission)

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:19 PM PDT

The Vicar is in Uzhitz trying to find heretics. I thought it would be brilliant if I put the psychedelic 'Witch Potion' into his morning stew breakfast and it might make him freak out and cause something weird to happen in the quest, like making him appear to be a heretic. Alas, nothing happened at all. What a let down.

    New Player Question About Build

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 02:58 AM PDT

    Hey all,

I just got the game on a whim the othe day off of the Playstation Network. I dinked around for a little bit and I gotta say, I really enjoy it. I'm thinking about taking it seriously and I think I want to make a stealth build. Lockpicking, pickpocketing, cloak and dagger stuff. The works.

I was wondering if you guys had any tips on perks to go for that may not be obvious. Also best gear to use and where it's located or any other tips you've got. I did a little Google searching but most of what I found was from over 2 years ago and I don't know if it's out of date.

    Thanks so much in advance!
