I found a fix for the bug 'find father simon'

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 04:10 AM PDT

The quest objective tells you to talk to a man sitting by a hut 150m or so to the right of the church just outside Skalitz. Sometimes the npc doesn't have any dialogue options. You need him to find father simon. You can bypass this by just googling 'kdc father simon location'. The map shows he's on the far west of the map, underneath a little Grove by a stream. There's supposed to be two bandits with him keeping him prisoner, but with this glitch they're not there. You simply talk to father simon and can progress with the quest.

TIL that if you do the combo blunt strike with a long sword and shield, it has a chance to knock the enemy down.

    Keys

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 11:54 PM PDT

So i was trying to steal everything from the rattay armourer and there was a guard near the stairs, i take out my bow and shoot him, he dies and i continue by going up the stairs, after i lockpick every single chest over there and took lots of items i go check the guard's body to search for valuables, so there's normal stuff like groschen and his armor but he also had fifty keys called "Sir Hans Capon's Keys" i already finished the game and i know what they do but why did he have fifty of them in his pockets? And i can't even put those in the trunk because they are quest items, what's the point of all that.

    Blacksmithing

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:20 AM PDT

I've been playing around in the base game without dlc for a few hours and wondered if there are any blacksmithing options like alchemy. In the main game, dlc or do I need a mod for it, if so recommended mods are appreciated

    Question about alchemy.

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 08:00 AM PDT

I`m about 9 lvl in this. And just realized, up to this point I never boil a cauldron. Only pull a rope one or more depending on a recipe but never up to a real boiling and my potions were fine. It never dropped in price(in inventory) in never gave me less of a number per cook, compared then started to boil it properly. I even tested to cook A marigold decoction potion without even touching a flame. It`s still working. WTF??? I did not make an upgrade for "One more mistake" in the Alchemy skill tree.

Does anyone have a comparison of FOV with different helmets?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 07:31 AM PDT

I know that full face helmets obstruct some of your FOV but apparently each helmet does it in a different way depending on the shape of the viewport. Can someone confirm this? I tend use gear with the best stats (Grand bascinet for now) but Id sacrifice a few points of defense to be able to actually see.

Question about side quests vs. main quest

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 06:41 AM PDT

Let me preface this by saying that KCD is one of my all time favorite games. I stayed up until 4 AM my time when it came out to be able to download and play it, and I ended up missing classes that day because I was so tired, but dammit I enjoyed every minute of it. Despite this, I have gotten approximately 25-33% of the way through the game. I am very scatterbrained when it comes to games, and I go through a cycle of getting stuck, forgetting about it for a while, and restarting the game because I can't remember what was going on. I must have played through the beginning of the game 100 times. My biggest problem is I seem to be unable to fight more than one enemy at a time. The furthest I ever got in the game ended with me consistently getting my butt kicked by three enemies all at once. I feel like my problem is that I am progressing through the story too quickly and am not saving up money to buy better weapons and armor. I admittedly haven't done a single side quest. Do you guys think it would be wise to do more side quests and build up stats and money to be better prepared for these situations? Or do I just really need to work on combat? Thanks!

I'm not just ignorant am I?

Is there seriously not a way to cancel a drawn back bow string? I have to just shoot my arrow and waste it?

    History Behind Kingdom Come

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 11:38 AM PDT

So, after some reading I discovered that a lot of things in the game are based on real history (even Hans Capon!) does anybody have some good starting place to learn about this?

Such a lovely conclusion to an annoying quest (Spoilers: Needle in a Haystack)

Just bought these so I could play IRL. Getting my wife to play and actually be interested is gonna be the tricky part.

Xbox one controller not working (steam)

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:18 AM PDT

I usually import the most commonly used configs, not the one from warhorse.

Usual button setup, Click left stick for sprint, B for crouch. I can usually get it all to work for one session, then some controls don't work when I start it up again.

Usually hitting B pulls up the start menu, and not what it did then last time.

Any known ways to fox my controls and make them stay that way?

    Hardcore question

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 09:48 AM PDT

Hey guys hope you are all doing well in this troubling times. Just have a quick question for you all, I've been playing a lot of hours of kcd first in ps4 then I sold it and bought a xbox, started playing on Xbox as never finished the game. Did the first battle and all the dlcs, I got amor of hours in the game but the main quest just kinda gets forgotten. What o wanted to ask is do you think a should try a hardcore playtrough? Is it worth it? Or is it more like a "chore" then anything?

Do console commands even work anymore?

    Posted: 26 Mar 2020 10:05 PM PDT

Okay, before you get mad and start typing furiously, just hear me out. All I want is to compare hoods and different cosmetic type items, like the combat shirts you can wear. I don't want to cheat any money, or get endgame items. But the wh_pl_additem XX command didn't work. So I went to the money cheat to see if that worked, just to test it, and I tried to give myself like 20 groschen. That didn't work either. I can't find anything online, but I think that console commands don't work anymore. And, I'll say it again, I am NOT CHEATING TO GET ENDGAME ITEMS AND GEAR! I just want useless cosmetic items. So don't go into the comments and start insulting me.
