How I immerse myself in the game

    First hour experience

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 02:35 AM PST

Picked up kcd on PlayStation for £10 on Friday. Was excited to have a go on it since I've always been a big fan of anything medieval or games with the opportunity to rob and murder the shit out of people.

So I have heard about the bugs things that the game has but I figured much of this would probably be sorted by now (....) so I breeze through the first part of the game not really knowing if I'm going about it in the right way or not.

Get annihilated by the cuman chasing me from skalitz a couple times since I have no idea where I'm going, get a trophy for saving Theresa even though I just ran away leaving her to fend for herself, and arrive in Talmberg.

At this point you get your first bit of freedom so naturally I just go around looting the fuck out of everything I can find. I approach a horse that offers a 'mount' command rather than 'steal' and hop on. The horse proceeds to levitate about 6ft into the air and get stuck with its neck through the stable roof.

No problem I'll just hop off.. well I couldn't, so I was pressing every fathomable button in an attempt to get off the floating steed, after a few minutes I gracefully jump off the horse and fall from the roof knocking off a chunk of health.

I decide to go back to robbing the shit out of the locals, and enter an unoccupied house. Just to be sure I sneak and close all doors behind me - and get down to business. Just about as I'm wrapping up, an NPC whom I assume to be the homeowner, teleports through two doors into the room I am in and alerts the guards.

I am thrown in jail and subsequently kicked out of Talmberg.

Suffice to say I was confused, loved every second of this ridiculousness and can't wait for more today!

    Any tips welcome.

Logged to XBOX profile, lost my save game.

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 09:30 AM PST

So I bought the XBOX game pass and downloaded the game. I played a couple of hours, the Microsoft store asked me if I want to log into the XBOX profile, so I logged in. It launched the game without any problems, but after the game loaded into the main menu I couldn't load the save game. I have the save games, because I found the folder with the files, but I'm still logging in as the XBOX account not as my computer, if that makes any sense. The platform is PC and the version is the newest, I guess.

    Problem with lighting in-game

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 09:05 AM PST

So when i look at objects (especially when they are brightly lit by daylight) they seem to have 'blocks' in and around it (lacking a better description). Sorta like a grit of lighting layers.

Does anyone know a solution? Patch version: 1.9.4

Its on PC: GPU: Nvidia Geforce 970 4GB CPU: Intel i7-6700 4 cores Motherboard: H110M (intel) RAM: 16GB

    Polearm still bugged? (Xbox)

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 07:51 AM PST

I picked up an Italian Bill from a bandit who ambushed me and it auto equipped itself, I couldn't put it away or I equip it without dropping it!

Is this intended? I read there used to be a bug where they would never despawn, will this happen to my game now? Should I load a save before I picked the thing up?

Edit : why am I downvoted for asking something? 😂

I want to replay the game. Is it polished and fixed now?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 05:11 AM PST

I remember playing it when it came out and it had lots of bugs. I stopped playing it because of this. I have the pc version, is it worth playing now? I don't want to use mods or anything like that

How realistic is the scale of the battles? (Potential spoilers)

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 01:45 AM PST

So the game has received some criticism for marketing it with huge battles, yet the biggest battle was like maybe 40 vs. 40. But is that really a flaw? I mean wouldn't an army of 50 men be pretty substantial on the countryside back in the day?

    Shepherding/Sheep-Grinding in Skalitz

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 12:40 PM PST

I started up a new playthough, chased sheep around for stat grinding, and noticed that two very good things happen when you herd the skalitz sheep into the barn next to Kunesh's house.

    • They all rapidly become stuck in the geometry of the hay piles there, leaving them almost completely motionless even as you attack them for grinding

    • You're surrounded by walls on all sides, so no one can catch you for illegally attacking/killing/looting the sheep

    • It isn't terribly hard to lead them into the building

Is this a known exploit? Has anyone found any similarly easy or advantageous methods for grinding these poor respawning animals into stat-boosts and mutton?
