    Why is my Speech -1?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 09:09 AM PST

I am pretty far advanced in a game of KCD (Main Level 14). But on the stats screen, my Speech is in red. Looking at my Speech skill (Q Info), it shows "Buff: -1". But in looking at my buffs, I don't see anything that would appear to affect Speech itself. (And I have several that add Charisma, such as Flower Power, Washed Fragrance, and Saville Row).

Does anybody know what's causing this -1 Speech?

I am not wanted (outlaw) in any town, and most (except Rova and Skalitz) like me (smiley face on map). I am not wearing anything I can think of that might affect it. (Clothes and washing only affect Charisma, right?)

    NPC reactions

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 03:00 AM PST

I know some NPCs react well to Henry in shining plate armor with a fancy sword and Waffenrock, but then there are some which behave like absolute dicks. I mean, this dude in full plate armor, with golden decorations, a fancy ass sword and expensive hood rides up to you on a horse with a noble saddle and a nice caparison and you're just like: "wHaT dO yOU wAnT?!"

I'm just saying a little more respect would be nice- you are after all (kind of) a noble and at least look like one.

Made a Choose Your Own Adventure game using KC:D screenshots

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 10:02 PM PDT

Had to make a choose your own adventure game for school. Decided to use screenshots of KC:D. Now we have to promote it and look at the google analytics in a couple of days. Would appreciate people running through it. It isn't long at all; will only take you a few minutes to finish it. If you have any feedback, I'd be happy to hear it. Either way, I appreciate you looking at it.

Jobst of Moravia and other major historical characters?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 05:22 AM PST

The one thing I loved about the epilogue of the game was seeing someone as powerful and influential as Jobst of Moravia brought to life on screen.

Seeing what he said about the whole situation with Wenceslas and Sigismund was very interesting.

Historically Jobst was a fascinating individual and was incredibly politically astute as well as very rich. Although if I remember right during the epilogue he is actually in debt.

I hope if there is a Kingdome Come sequel directly following the events from that we get to meet Jobst again and possibly some of the other major historical figures from the time such as Wenceslas, Sigismund, Prokop, one of the Habsburgs and the many others there were?

What is your guys opinion on Jobst?

If the sequel follows directly the events from the game what other major historical characters would you like to see appear in the game?

King Winceslas mentioned in Netflix's "The King"

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:48 PM PDT

I just finished watching Netflix's "The King"- a semi-accurate historical biopic of the rise of young Henry of Monmouth, aka Henry V. It begins shortly before the death of his father, usurper king Henry IV, during the start of the Hotspur Rebellion- up to his victory at Agincourt and marriage to French Princess Catherine of Valois. I say "semi-accurate" because it does take some liberties with how things actually happened, for storytelling sake, and also big hint, Ser John Falstaff is a major character, who is FICTIONAL character created by Shakespeare in his history drama of Henry V.

So anyway, a scene immediately after Henry's coronation as King, a banquet is shown as he receives gifts sent from foreign nations. This would be 1413. He receives a gift from King Winceslas of Bohemia...a beautiful artistic decorate golden goblet of some sort. The court is amazed at it's beauty.

So yeah long post sorry, but the name drop was awesome, and I thought some here might enjoy the very short historical backdrop detail. And by the way, I thought it was a great movie all around, and fans of Kingdom Come might enjoy all the costuming and set designs and such, it's all very accurate looking even if the script messes with things. Hadn't seen anyone go into this yet, so thought I'd share.

What are the respawn timers for wild game?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 03:08 AM PST

I've looked around and I can't seem to find any kind of official answer on this. I'm having a hard time finding deer to poach, and I haven't even hunted that much on this play through. I feel like the woods had more random spawn deer at release. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong, but it's making me wonder if they didn't patch in something. I'm also wondering if maybe my game is bugged or the respawn timers are just much longer than what I remember. So is there anything I should know about respawn rates or anything? Do the deer at " deer hunting spots" also respawn?

    Mods not working?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 10:13 PM PDT

Installed KCD looked at countless guides and for the life of me I cannot get the mods to work in game....

I put them in my KCD mod folder, inside folders that have a "pak" file are inside a data folder like so 📷

    https://gyazo.com/7c9b87322eeda2f6e1ce4489a3b33ac8

None of the mods are working....

I tried creating a new game and everything is the same. I load an old game, everything is the same. Am I missing something?

Is the Combat Completely Busted in this Game?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 03:14 PM PDT

I've gotten about 9 hours into this game and I really love the setting and roleplaying elements, but the combat is just so strange and clunky. The combat looked similar to games I've been playing forever: M&B, Chiv, Mordhau, For Honor, all those directional slashers, so I thought I had a good idea of what I was in for. I was only kind of right. So far I've come to these conclusions:

    1. The direction you attack in / have your mouse in doesn't really matter. Both you and your enemy can block any attack from anywhere regardless of direction.
    2. Higher skilled enemies don't even block normally, they will either perfect block or master strike any attack you make towards them.
    3. Combos are USELESS. If the first attack doesn't immediately get PB's or MS'd the second one will, no question.
    4. Clinches are just plain bad, walking straight towards the enemy and spamming the F key is the only way to get it to work. Trying to left or right click when you see the clinch start is NOT possible against higher skill enemies. Not only that but they kinda seem like a crapshoot anyway given the Clinch Master perk.
    5. Given the absolutely perfect defense from skilled enemies, the only way to fight back and win without putting yourself at entirely unnecessary risk is to master strike your enemy 100% of the time, which is a tedious and long process.
    6. The easiest and best way to lose a fight is to attack.

Why is the combat such a mishmash of ideas that seemingly do not function together? Am I missing something here? Do skilled enemies suddenly stop master striking every single attack I make when I get my Warfare Skill high enough or some RPG shenanigans?

The game skips over cutscenes (Xbox)

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 03:55 PM PDT

I got the game yesterday through Game Pass and it seems like my type of game, however, for some reason the game is skipping over cutscenes. After doing the first quest where you run a few errands for your dad the game all out of the sudden told me to run and find a horse. I checked my quest log and it said that my parents had been killed and I had no idea what was going on.

I'm in the process of re-installing the game to see if that helps. In the meantime, has anyone else run in to the same issue?
