My duel with Wayfaring Knight had an interesting twist

I just gotta say something about the scripting for the game...

    Posted: 18 Apr 2021 08:43 PM PDT

    Absolutely remarkable.

Every bit of dialogue in every quest never seemed off or unusual, plus there was plenty that made me think stuff like "Huh, this medieval humor is actually pretty funny!" or "Yikes. These catholic priests are way too serious..." (we all had this thought, I'm sure).

My favorite dialogue would probably be the final cutscene with your main quest in Uzhitz:

"Pious...they're about as pious as I am ordained."

"Nonsense, you would make an excellent priest."

    My kind of practical/intellectual humor.

    What do i do now?

    Posted: 19 Apr 2021 06:53 AM PDT

I just finished getting all the achievements in this game, all the DLC's and sitting on 400 hours I really don't think there is much else to do now. Any suggestions to what game i should play now? Maybe something reminiscent of KCD?

    Matthew is a beast.

    Posted: 19 Apr 2021 08:27 AM PDT

So yesterday when I was playing on my first hardcore run I had a funny incident.

I came upon the quest where I helped Matthew and Fritz beat up Ol' Thomas the Mill foreman in the middle of the woods. Because that's what friends do, right?

All goes well with arses thoroughly being kicked, and we all go our merry ways. A few hundred meters further and I'm getting ambushed in the dead of night by 4 top tier bandits. You all know which road I'm talking about (credit to /u/wholesomeduck24)

I was able to shoot one in the face with my trusty bow, while Mutt held the other closest down giving me time to switch to my axe and shield hoping to hit him in the back before his friends arrive. But he soon got routed when the other ones joined in and before you know it I'm battling 3 angry Czechs in full armour all by myself and struggling hard.

I was about to submit to my fate and kiss the last hour of my savegame goodbye, until who other than Matthew, back on his way to Ledetchko, jumped in fists blazing and paid me back in double by hammering one of the bandits giving me precious breathing space and allowing me to juggle between just two, which is no long a death sentence at this point in the game for me.

I imagine he's marked essential or something, because after a fierce night battle we were eventually able to overcome them and Matthew survived it wearing no more than his carpenters' clothes and using only his fists.

Dude's an absolute unit and a true bro.

Killed 1429 animals, now im maxed at warfare

    Posted: 18 Apr 2021 01:01 PM PDT

Medieval PETA is on my tail, which I glued to myself after ripping it off a cow.

Jokes aside, its a LOT quicker to level up combat skills by killing/knocking out animals, rather than sparring with Bernard.

Bows can kill all animals with ease.

Melee weapons can kill cows and pigs.

Fists can hit cows reliably, but the real exp gain is per knock out, so you have to tediously knock out the cow once, then you can one punch it and get the sweet exp.

In hardcore mode with the less exp trait, you get 8 to 9 exp per animal killed/knocked out.

Has anyone else been woken from a deep slumber by a guard trying to fine/arrest you for not having a lit torch?

    Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:32 PM PDT

Get the fuck out of my house man!

I also don't like in the late game when you gain some clout and status guards still give you a ton of shit over things like torches or even minor tresspassing. I remember heading to Rattay to warn them about an enemy army and not being able to reach Lord whatshisname because it was dark.

But overall its a fantastic game, one of the best RPGs ever.

A Question About A Sequel *spoiler alert for KCD ending*

    Posted: 19 Apr 2021 08:56 AM PDT

Since it's obviously going to be centered around Henry and his quest to avenge the death of his parents, what happens to all of the training? I had a lot of fun, taking my time and training Henry to be an absolute badass with maxed stealth and combat skills - but it was still very time consuming. It was something the game required and I was all for it, but considering that (I assume) it's still going to be an RPG, how is that going to be addressed, do you think?

Does Henry go into KCD2 already a skilled warrior, or do his abilities somehow reset? Or maybe we'll play as a new character under Henry's command?

    Siege quest timed?

    Posted: 19 Apr 2021 05:31 AM PDT

I currently just started the siege main quest and there are a lot of objectives. Do I need to complete it right away or can I do side quests first? And are there any penalties to doing it late?
