Is the tournament only for endgame?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 07:19 AM PST

I'm in the second round and literally every attack is perfect countered and they win 90% of clinches. The first round was easy but now it's like "nope, you're not allowed any further yet"

I just found the counterfeit coin mine by accident way too early

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 04:19 AM PST

Found a random mine on my way to Sassau to find the German knight, so decided to explore it, and it played a cutscene saying I'm a soldier of Sir Radzig trying to find counterfeit coin etc etc, I closed my app immediately and am now reloading a save from before I entered, but I'm wondering if I just spoiled a big part of the story? Would it have taken a lot of hours to go from the Knight in Sassau to finding the mine?

The exact thought process I had when I started this game

    Posted: 05 Feb 2021 03:53 PM PST

I love this game but, NPC battle tactics are jank

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 01:49 AM PST

Firstly, I love the gane. The Xbox series X makes it a gift to play. But If Im being surrounded by 4 guys, 2 of them stand directly behind my back. As in not able to backpedal. It's almost like they get stuck to Henry's back with glue and can't escape. I'd imagine surrounding someone you still keep them at swords lengths.

On that note too, if I'm escaping, there is no way they can run as fast as a horse, yet they always demount me after 50-100metres. Bohemian's must have extra calf muscles or something

How am I supposed to fight armored bandits with shields?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2021 03:08 PM PST

Level scaling ftw. I'm running into fully armored bandits now, and some of them have shields. How am I supposed to beat them? They don't take any damage.

Only way I survived an encounter on the road was to sneak up and stealth kill the shield wielding one.

Is Henry more powerful when lightly armored?!

    Posted: 05 Feb 2021 08:35 PM PST

So... it seems to me that I do a LOT more damage when I am unarmored or lightly armored... I haven't noticed any info on this in the game or on the wiki... Did I miss something? Why is this happening?

I NUKE guys when I'm running around in my nobleman's tights... but when I'm wearing full plate it takes ages to take down a single guard.

    Questions regarding combat

    Posted: 05 Feb 2021 05:19 PM PST

    Hello everyone,

I'm a touch confused regarding the combat and how exactly to "swordfight".

    1. How do you block counters from your opponent? Often times when you attack someone, they will block and counter attack. Sometimes I get a green symbol to block, other times I don't. Sometimes I"ll block it, othertimes despite hitting block I still take damage.
    2. What do you do in combat outside of counters? I've tried combos, slashing in different directions, and everything in between. Yet, I feel like I'm missing something since the only effective strategy seems to be repose (green shield block, and just counter). Or repeteadly hit the guy with different attacks till he messes up a block (mindless button mashing). The game seems to strongly be designed around strategy, yet I have been unable to find any yet.
    3. How do I kick or do anything when you clash? Sometimes during a counter, the enemy can kick me, yet I have no idea how I can kick back. Othertimes when you get close you guys will clash, but they always just push me back. I have no idea how to push them back.
    4. How do I also do cool counters outside of block and slash back? Sometimes when the enemy attacks back, rather than slashing back they can hit you with the hilt of their sword, they can get up close and stab you. And these are entirely "cutscene" like so they can't be blocked because your guy is still in the animation of getting hit.
    5. How does the enemy stamina work? I have the perks that reduce stamina intake, blocking doesn't cost stam, my vitality is pretty high, so theoretically, I should be able to just spam the attack until the enemy guards stamina is spent and they can't block anymore. This is not the case though, I'll wittle my stamina down, and the enemy will then do a barrage of attacks (this would imply they have at least 1.5-2x your stamina).
    6. Are there any differences in different types of weapons? They all seem to play the same way from what I've seen. I've used maces and different types of swords, and its all the same "repose, slash, stab, dodge", none of them seem to play any different or do any different amount of damage. Is there any point to use one weapon over the other since they all seem to play the same?

On the Scent quest bugged again - help, please. :(

    Posted: 05 Feb 2021 03:08 PM PST

    Hello!

I've been pretty much addicted to KCD, until the game litterally stopped for me.

I have issues with an infamous quest named ''On the Scent'' - the issue is, as for many, Reeky not spawning in his cave at all.

    Things I tried:

    - Different save files

    - Going straight to the next quest beginning (nothing, can't interact)

    - Playing the quest in different ways (searching all the 3 caves, going straight into the right one, talking to the wood cutters or not, going straight to the right cave wihtout starting the quest, talking to the NPCs in different orders)

    - Resetting quest throught the mod script (it worked, I was able to talk to Reeky, but it's bugged - as soon as I tell him I'm taking him to Rattay, the game keeps saving for like 30 minutes, and nothing)

So yeah, I've tried litterally every solution, but I'm stuck, probably forever, after 35 hours of playing. I won't restart, because I've done litterally every sidequest till that moment, so it's not worth it. Can you help me anyhow? Any tips? Maybe a game save file? Anything, cause litterally I can't play it anymore, it's just impossible, spent like 5 hours on trying to fix the bug...

Wouldn't it be great if they actually did fight over your scraps? Imagine tossing some spoiled meat into a puddle and watching 3 men kill each other for it. Now that's some emergent gameplay I could get behind.

Might be getting this game and have some questions.

    Posted: 05 Feb 2021 01:34 PM PST

I have played this before but I didn't get far past the point where I have to sneak into someones castle because it got took over.

I lost the game somehow and now the royal edition is on sale for £10 so I might get it. Any recommendations on how I should start my new save? Any tips that could help me along the way?
