Posted: 21 Dec 2020 04:14 AM PST So I was doing The Rattay Tourney (as ya do), and after the second last round on the second bout, I decided to try something out. So I went to the edge of the arena and hit someone, assuming the game wouldn't let me, but, lo and behold, I hit the guy and the tourney was cancelled! I had a fine put on me, but, oddly enough, the guards didn't do anything to stop me, so I punched one and payed the fine. It's this kind of attention to detail which make me love this game. I just started my second playthrough and, man it's so much easier Posted: 21 Dec 2020 05:55 AM PST Now that I understand the game mechanics I have a full set of armour just at the begining, I leveled up my most important skills, I can fight any group of enemies as long as I have my horse. I remember the first time I played, I was about to quit out of frustration. [link] [comments]

Add autosaves after quests into hardcore mode Posted: 21 Dec 2020 04:32 AM PST I decided to start a plathrough of the hardcore mode today. I just taught it was gonna be much more immersive since it's very realistic. I really liked it so far, but I have a big problem with the save system here. For anyone who doesn't know - in hardcore the game doesn't autosave after a quest, the only way you can save is by sleeping or drinking a saviour schnapps. This makes the game harder, but not in a good way. If a quest glitches out (nothing new in this game) you would lose hours of work and it wouldn't even be your fault. This happened to me right now. I got the awakening quest to save my parents in the nightmare sequence, but it won't progress. I killed the cumans and no matter where I go it won't finish it. Now I have to load a save all the way back to talmberg, before I even got back to Skalitz for the homecoming quest. It's not that horrible, but I'm sure people have lost actual HOURS of quests due to this. I think if they can't fix the constant glitches in quest, they should at least change the save system in hardcore until they do. It's really bothering me how you can lose so much progress over a stupid bug that isn't even your fault, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. [link] [comments]
Do people participate in/succeed in the first Rattay tournament Posted: 21 Dec 2020 06:43 AM PST Some early game spoilers ahead. As a gamer, I'm accustomed to quests typically having one opportunity to succeed or fail. I prefer not to spoil myself on the parameters of each individual quest to find out what I need to do promptly, what I can delay, and what I can safely fail. So with that in mind, I felt quite overwhelmed upon my arrival to Rattay. I've got a main questline which sees me employed with daily tasks being thrown my way. That seems like a priority, which I probably shouldn't ignore. Meanwhile there's this tournament that is specifically going to be held the very next day. Okay, that's a lot of items on my agenda. I wake up early in the morning day 2 and head over to the arena, hoping I can sign up, do some more training before the fight, do the tourney, and then hopefully still have time to do my patrol for the city guard...wow that's a LOT to try to fit into one day. I ask for the hunters sword and shield for my tourney round one. At the beginning of the battle I get a pop-up informing me that my stats are too low to handle my equipment. That can't be good. Sure enough, I get pretty badly beaten. Round two doesn't go any better. I go ahead and do some research to see what I did wrong, and read that the quest is repeatable regardless of whether I succeed, fail, or skip it. So I reload from a bit earlier and skip it, in favor of a more manageable day of some training, some shopping, and my work for the city guard. And I get a big notice that I failed the quest. I'm like, wow, a quest failed entry in my journal isn't quite what I was expecting and doesn't look like what I'd expect from a repeatable quest. Apparently others have been confused by the same thing. I haven't played enough yet, but I guess after five days or so the quest WILL repeat though, and then maybe I'll at least be strong enough to compete. Even if I try and fail it's not a problem. All that's correct, right? And then all that said, are there people who compete and succeed in the tourney on the first opportunity? It looks like the reward is kinda overpowered to be successful at that point. Overall the open nature of the game is great, but sometimes I think it results in me feeling a bit more lost than I'd prefer. [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Dec 2020 02:21 AM PST I was thinking of buying from the ashes and heard you have to have a lot of money before you start I have about 40,000 right now is that enough to fully complete the DLC? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Dec 2020 09:12 AM PST I have now cooled down a bit (not much) after loosing 3h from my new playline. I never came far on my first playthrough and I decided to start fresh when picking the game up after a break. Only this time I picked hardcore because, you know, im a chad. Anyway I started playing and rescued Capon bla bla bla. As I was looking for a more rp experience I didn't just rob every house and therefore didn't have a lot of cash. My schnapps were long gone and I kind of forgot I was playing hardcore. Then I died. Nothing more to say about it, I play hardcore for more challange. I just needed an outlet and reddit had it's lucky day. I'm gonna cry myself a river in the shower now if you don't mind. Cya, or not... [link] [comments]

Need help with stealth (Spoilers) Posted: 20 Dec 2020 08:48 PM PST So uh just be warned I'm not good at formatting so there's spoilers below. Spoilers for semi late game quest Night Raid, Vranik and Some others(is it late game idk how long the game is) So I got the Night Raid quest and oml the stealth is kinda atrocious. Two guards, facing in opposite directions, not very close. I stealth kill one and the other just like telepathically turns around. I know the kill made a sound but this is a bit much isn't it? How do I get past it? I have 5 stealth +5 from the padfoot potion. I have enough strength to strangle them but they sorta telepathically know too. I'm not confident enough to hit a first shot headshot despite being an almost exclusively bow player and it probably will be noisy. Can't talk to one of my allies to perform a coordinated take down either. The guards don't seem to fan out either so I might just be choked here unless I find an alternative. Take this as sort of a mini rant. Stealthing is hell unless they're asleep or just idling. You don't know how easy the monastery was. Imagine taking an elegant route or just... Walking up to them in the church at 3.30am when they're alone or in their bed and strangling them. Also that one thing when you escape from Vranik... Crawling under the wooden walkway made me want to die because of the collision. Anyway it's mostly infuriating because I love stealth games a lot and this is getting under my skin. I didn't expect like revolutionary stealth but it's jank asf. Honestly, you don't come back from playing Dishonored... Also I'm fully aware about the impossible nature of Night Raid (I accidentally spoiled it while looking up a jank way to get past the first two guys) I just wanna get through it and perhaps see someone get shot. Posted: 20 Dec 2020 01:24 PM PST I don't know what "it" is, but Gothic 1 and 2 have it, Deus Ex 1 has it, VTM Bloodlines has it, and more recently KCD has it, and CP 2077 definitely has it, and all of them have "it" in troves. Bugs? I doubt bugs would make me love a videogame. [link] [comments]
I'm in a love-hate relashionship with this game Posted: 20 Dec 2020 03:16 PM PST I wake up 5 AM and boot up Kingdom Come. I love everything, the atmosphere, the graphics, the freedom, the setting. What I hate is the many features that seem to be shallowly planned. The latest example of this to me was the mission were you raid the bandit/cunan camp. I have played over 12 hours in this mission alone and it managed to destroy my experience on its own. First trouble: this game kinda lies to you. You feel like you can solve things in your way but sometimes you can't. I assumed I could kill the camp all by myself, so my smartass abused some mechanics and killed every single one of the soldiers before the battle and reported that there were barely any soldiers there. The result? I fought a full army with little to no troops. It took me over 5 hours to realise it was a dead end. I have to restore to a save 3 hours (many sidequest between the slaughter and the reporting) before the mission, totalizing 8 hours of lost gameplay. So I did everything again. Expect now I got to the boss fight bleeding with barely any HP. Restart. But here comes the other unthought consequence to a mechanic: you can't bandage yourself in battle! I did everything I could, I ran far away from the fighting soldiers, I unequip swords, I crouched and hid, nothing! So I would get to the very end and bleed myself to death. There is so much more frustrating things about this game that one would think would be fixed. Or maybe they shouldnt be fixed and I am just crying. I dont know, all I know is that I will have to take a break from this game if I wish to maintain myself and my table stable. [link] [comments]
