Love how this game pulls you in Posted: 22 Dec 2020 04:39 AM PST Just started last night after tiring of trying to beat the final boss in Sekiro and after a brief try at Vampyr whose storytelling, gameplay and dialogue disappointed. And I have to say wow did KCD pull me in with its atmosphere, characters and storyline! There were some moments of frustration due to some poorly scripted sections in my opinion, you might even call it jank, like the game doesn't do a very good job at explaining its systems and what it expects you to do, but the first story beats are sooo good! Places you right into a historical setting which feels authentic (I guess because it is) and with relatable, likeable, if flawed protagonists. Also really appreciating the art direction with all the effort that went into recreating medieval art and culture in everything from the environments to the user interface. It doesn't feel as polished as I would have liked, and I'm only a couple hours in, but I'm impressed with what a new studio was able to accomplish. [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Dec 2020 06:29 AM PST I'm playing hardcore, and got to the quest where I need to join Sir Hans on a hunting trip. We ride out--well, HE rides out with me jogging along just behind him, the jackass that he is. Made it to the spot where he wanted to make camp, and wow, the day had passed and he said we're gonna get some sleep and go hunting at dawn. But Henry's not really tired, it's light out, and I'm in a neat new area. Time to get some herb picking skills going! Maybe I'll get lucky and find some belladonna! And I'm not too confident about my abilities to actually shoot and kill a bunny with a bow, so let's practice ordering Mutt around until I can confidently instruct him to hunt and bring me rabbits! This should be easy enough, let's follow the road right up this hill. Huh, no belladonna up here, that's too bad. Maybe over here? Nope. Hey doggie, here's some dried meat for you! Sun's going down, it's getting dark, but Henry's still really not tired, and he's got a torch. Let's look around a little bit more. Okay okay, no need to push it, Mutt can hunt now, there's no belladonna, I'm carrying too much other kinds of flowers, time to head back. Torch is lighting the way, just head back down the road down the hill. Walking, walking, walking...hmmm, it seems like we're walking longer than it took to get to the top of the hill... Is it possible we're going the wrong way? Maybe in all the flower picking I made it to the other side of the hill, and now by going down the hill, I'm actually getting further away from the camp? I've been walking way too long for this to be the right direction. Okay, simple fix, turn back around, back up the hill, and...okay I'm pretty sure this is where I was flower picking, so keep going up the hill...up, up, up...no, this can't be right. If I was past the top of the hill, I'm sure that I shouldn't need to keep going upwards to return to camp. I may be a bit foggy as to where my north/south/east/west is, but I know that I was up from the camp, so returning to camp means that I need to go down! What time is it? 10:30pm, okay that's fine, I'll be back soon and get plenty of sleep. So back down the hill I go, down down down. Wait what's this, a HOUSE? I'm looking for a hunting camp in the woods, not a house! Why am I finding a house? It's like a farm house! Where the hell am I? Let me look at my map. Over here maybe? Or...here? Gah! midnight, I'm lost. This is not going well at all. Hope those flowers were worth picking! You know, following the path down didn't work, following the path up didn't work, I'm not even sure that I'm on the path at this point, screw the path, I think I had gone this way to get from camp to where I am, so I'm just heading back in the reverse direction until I find something. Hans? HANS! Helloooooo!!! 2am. Lost in the woods. Completely, utterly lost. I'm either gonna get killed out here, or just never find Hans, and yeah, sorry Henry, you probably don't really understand what "reload" means, but we're gonna be reverting to the morning of the hunt...I'll just try a bit longer out here before I do that. Wait, what's this? A bridge? Going over a river? What river? What bridge!? Let's look at the map! Okay, there's a big river here, which is right by the hunting camp, and a smaller river up here. This river looks pretty small, so maybe it's the one up north? If that's the case, I just follow the path north to a main road, then right at the main road, right again, and I'll hit the camp, and pass a farm house on the way! That must be the house I saw! Jesus Christ be saved! Okay I'm pretty sure this is north. Walking, walking, walking...walking...shouldn't I have made it to where I turn right by now??? It doesn't look that far on the map! Okay, I must be going the wrong way. Back to the river. 2:30am. Other way. Walking, walking, walking. Nope, this isn't right either. Okay, so I must not be at the river to the north, I must be at the river to the south, which runs right to the camp. Okay, you know what? I'm going to follow the river. If I'm at the river to the north, I'll either hit a lake or a point where the river just dries up. If I'm at the one to the south, I'll eventually make it to camp. Just...follow the river. 3:30am. Henry's sleepy. Following the river, following the river...am I going the right way? How would I know? Looking for any bridge. Knowing that the first bridge is behind me, a second bridge will hopefully let me put my bearings together and figure out where I am on the map, whether I'm even at the right river! What's this? Jesus Christ be super-praised! A gravestone...which...you know, ends up on my map, in exactly the right spot. Because...well, that's how maps work, everyone knows that! And here's the grave marker. Wait, what? That bridge I crossed was probably 100 yards from the camp, and we'd have crossed it on the way to the camp itself! If only Henry had been paying attention to his surroundings during that moment of story-imposed "fast travel!" Okay, so, back to the bridge, and just turn left here, along the road. Okay...no camp, no camp, no camp, COME ON! No camp, it's 4:30am, no camp, backtrack, wait, the road veers a bit here, no camp, no camp, CAMP! Oh camp camp camp camp CAMP! And Hans is still asleep, it's dawn, but I think I can squeeze in an hour of sleep before it's time to go hunting. Yawn, SO tired. Hans wants to make hunting a competition? And he's heading off this way on his own, sounds good to me. Mutt, find me rabbit, I need a nap. Two hours later there's a three-foot pile of dead rabbits in front of me, yeah, I'm just that good at hunting! Learn from the master, Hans! [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Dec 2020 04:17 AM PST I absolutely love the combat in this game and then the part after where you loot their corpses and take all their valuables but recently I've been having problems where I get no random events or ambushes . I would literally fast travel from Rattay to Skalitz and nothing. I found out it was a bug that was supposed to be patched, so if anyone knows how to fix this please can you tell me, I would hate to restart my play through [link] [comments]
I wish you could just cancel a perk if you dont enjoy it. Posted: 21 Dec 2020 11:19 PM PST I chose the perk so that Henry doesnt get hungry when sitting still, but I didnt realize how much of an impact it would have. I hardly ever have to eat at all now, and I kinda miss it. I think it should just be a thing in rpgs where if you dont like a certain perk you choose, you can just cancel it. I'm fine with taking the loss of a level up point. If I want to lose an ability that makes me stronger, let me. This is just a small gripe. I absolutely love the game. [link] [comments]
Doubt regarding the pestilence quest Posted: 22 Dec 2020 10:14 AM PST I've almost finished this quest. After Nicodemus gave me the potion I gave it to every sick person in the indicated area, including the captive. However, I still have the objective "give the cure to the sick". I know that one has to wait several days before the of the potion works, but unlike in the main quest I dont get an objective to wait for results. I fear that somehow theres someone else I should give the potion to that will die if I dont apply it, but ive checked everywhere and theres nobody left. Is that just how the quest is written, or am I forgetting someone? [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Dec 2020 05:44 AM PST Did you guys know that if any non-killable npc see you commit a crime, or any npc, they will make you pay to talk to them? I discovered this by killing every, single, person in Rattay then trying to talk to Sir Radzig! Cool isn't it? Gotta love that attention to detail. [link] [comments]

A horse that wont throw me off when I try to run from an ambush? Posted: 22 Dec 2020 07:49 AM PST I'm pretty early in the game, still at the quest with the limpy bandit in Uzhitz. I saved up 1.1k and I taught it might be enough to get a horse that I can use to run for my life. Every horse I found so far that has decent courage costs over 2k. I found one in Uzhitz that has ok courage but it's other stats are super garbage. How much courage does a horse even need to be a warhorse? I need courage the most. Other stats can be somewhere around Pebble's stats but anything much lower isn't worth imo. Any recommendations? [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Dec 2020 12:05 AM PST I am 100 hrs into my first playthrough. I am playing the role of the honest knight and I have accumulated tons of weapons and armor. I go to sell swords that in my inventory are worth a couple of hundred gold but the weaponsmith or blacksmith only gives me a poor exchange. How can I get more con for my weapons and armor? Anybody else try a no death run with all the negative perks? Posted: 21 Dec 2020 06:43 PM PST I'm doing that now and things are going very well, I'm playing as a thief so I've already looted the whole city, knocked out and looted countless guards, knocked out the tournament participants(a few times), and trained my ass off with captain Bernard. I've played for 40 hrs with this Henry and I've only left rattay 5 times lol but I had 85k groschen at one point. [link] [comments]
Glitch on Baptism of Fire mission Posted: 22 Dec 2020 03:57 AM PST I'm playing Kingdom Come on Xbox One and I keep encountering the same glitch on the Baptism of Fire mission. I make it through to near the end (battering ram to enter the final stage where you meet Runt) and when we are successful in breaking down the door (after we repel the final attack from the hill) the game kicks me out for some reason. I know that you go on to fight Runt after because I got to the point previously (it saved when I had very little health and when I hadn't levelled Henry up as much as I have now). I am returned to the Xbox home screen and if I click on Kingdom Come it takes a while to load and then the final save is the battle before (where you deal with the archers). This has happened three times and it's so annoying as this time round I'm finding the mission quite easy (finishing with full health each time to face Runt). Has anyone else experienced this or do you know what I could do to fix it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Dec 2020 02:39 PM PST The game delivers almost every promise that cyberpunk said, from choices actually mattering to clothes reputation system, only sad its far buggier then cyberpunk, im surprised no one shitted on this game for that, so far enjoying the game alot even tho it was a slow start and very hard combat that pissed me off so much lmao [link] [comments]
