    Lock picking ps4 advice

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 07:08 AM PST

I've played video games all my life, was a Sega Genesis kid in the early 90s. But I have never, NEVER encountered anything as impossible as lockpicking in this game. I just did the tutorial with Peshek and I didn't even come close once, and I just ran out of lock picks and he walked off, and now I'm just fucked. The tutorial is literally impossible. It feels entirely hopeless.

How the fuck am I supposed to do any lockpicking in this game? It was an "easy" lock and it was just impossible. An easy lock! The game is fucking broken, how in the hell am I supposed to do this?

Sorry, I'm sure you've had this topic many times but I really need some advice here.

    A story of triumph.

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 09:29 PM PST

So I've been playing for around 25 hours, I've gotten halfway through the main quest, saved up enough to help the town and gotten all of my stats around 10/11. And I finally hit the best milestone! I can now survive or even beat up on multiple enemies. It took alot of frustration and practice with Bernard but the combat finally "clicked" so to speak. It takes general practice and some understanding on which targets to threaten first(archers or lightly armored opponents) and how to move in combat so as to line the enemies up and prevent yourself from becoming surrounded. Don't give up hope! The game is much more fun when you're not worried about getting ambushed at every other crossroads. If I can make it then so can you.❤️

1st playthrough, suggestions on the time sensitive quests?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 05:07 AM PST

I'm at a point in which somehow the very heavens told me "Buddy do them sidequests before this" (the die is cast) i doubt its the end of the game, but anyway, i know there are some time sensitive quests and i generally only do the fun/well rewarding ones, so, anyonw can give me a headsup on any quest i ought to do before i get slaughtered by cumans?

    Need advice regarding combat

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 06:26 AM PST

Just done the archery and sword training Rattay. I took in everything he said about feints and dodging and directing your attacks, but it still feels like combat just does not work. I try do these things and the enemy just blocks everything. My combat consists of me waiting for them to attack perhaps so I can counter, they don't so I go in and attack, they block everything, then they fuck me up. Its like wtf I am fucked no matter what I do. It seems totally random which of my attacks actually get through their defenses, and it's about 1 in 20 that actually get through. Everything else is just blocked by them like they're this impenetrable wall of steel, even though I'm changing up between heavy and light attacks and changing directions. Then when I block they just randomly fuck me up as if my blocking is useless, Then theyll just grab me and headbutt me or something and there is nothing I can do. Its just incredibly frustrating and feels like bullshit. I get that Henry is an untrained peasant but is this how it's supposed to be? I am not having fun at all, combat is just bullshit but I can see there's a great system there I'm just not getting the hang of.

Edit: do you know what the biggest joke of all is? I just played as Tess fighting Henry and he kicked my ass. Henry sucks when I control him but suddenly he's a badass when the PC has him

    New player Tips?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 02:03 AM PST

Just bought this game on the Autumn sale on Steam. Any tips for first timers?

P.S. I love story rich RPGs and more than happy to grind sideQs for XP.

    Looking for Skalitz power-leveling tips!

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 09:44 PM PST

So I've already completed the game and all its DLCs, and now I'm planning on starting another playthrough. This time around, I want to max out everything I can before the Cumans show up, and see what kind of difference it makes in the early game, since my first playthrough started out as rough as a typical first playthrough does.

I've seen a lot of tips for grinding Skalitz, but I know the game has gone through updates that may have changed things, and I'd like to have all the info gathered in 1 handy post, so can anyone tell me what there is to grind with the current version of the game?

    KCD optimization is RNG

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 03:34 AM PST

I enjoy this game very much but my first playthrough was stopped by sudden lags that couldnt be fixed. Next playthrough I went hardcore mode and everything was smooth max settings 60 fps locked, after 5 hours the same thing happend - 20 fps max . Lags for no reason. Like wtf can I do to even enjoy this game when at any moment the game can get fucked for no reason. One thing is really strange though it always happend when I didnt play the game for a couple of days. Will try making a new save but is it even worth it ? I have never played a game soo badly optimized.

Do you find Mutt annoying, and are you a dog owner?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 10:13 PM PST

Just curious. I've seen comments ranging from "Mutt's the goodest boi" to "I hate this loud ass dog" so now I wanna see numbers and if owning a pet irl has anything to do with it.

What's the highest point/best vantage point?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 07:36 PM PST

I've been exploring the map, and it's left me wonder, what's the highest point on the map? I thought it might be the hills outside of Skalitz, but the best vantage point is on the walls of upper Rattay.

    Is the DLC worth it?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 11:12 AM PST

Finished up KCD for the first time, loved the game and as everyone else wants to play more after that cliff hanger. Those who have played the DLC would you recommend it and how many hours does it add?

Does using Mutt to kill count against the merciful trophy?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 01:02 PM PST

Mutt has killed a few people but I have not (just using fists to best people up). On the stats screen it still says zero kills so I think I'm okay but figured I'd asked the experts. Any insite would be welcome. Thanks
