Did early 15th century cuirasses really leave such big gaps unprotected? It's not just arm pits, looks like parts of your chest weren't covered according to the game.

Best balanced Shader/Retexture Mod - offers balance of visuals and FPS

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 06:37 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Are there any experienced modders of KCD that have played a good number of retextures or shader mods? With all that have come out so far, does anyone have a good idea of what mod delivers good frames and decent visuals?

So far I'm using 'Enhanced Default Reshade'. So far not bad, eliminated buggy light flickering and has brought crisper details to the game. The colours seem hyper dense which makes it feel...dunno, it's good but can't put my finger on how its...weird. I don't hate it.

I tried 'Optimized Graphics Preset - Unofficial Update' but the settings kept reverting, even after following extras steps by the author so I ditched it.

Anyone got some good suggestions that will help the community settle on an MVP for shaders/graphics mod?

    Best tips for no-crosshair archery?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 07:47 AM PDT

I have quite a high level Henry now and have really got the hand of melee combat. My experience with bows has been mixed. Early on, I put a piece of blutack on the screen to mark a crosshair and found it fairly easy to hunt and kill mid-level enemies. But I figured I should git gud at 'proper' archery, and I'm finding it really tough without a crosshair guide. So what are you best tips for no-crosshair archery? I've heard people say I should aim for a place just above Henry's knuckle, and I kind of get the idea, but more specific tips would be appreciated.

    KCD 2020 - Rudy ENB, it's happening!

That ending though... (Gripes after the first play through)

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 10:48 AM PDT

Alright, so I just finished playing my first run through the game on my PS4 and for the most part really enjoyed it: It's clearly still full of bugs and not an ideal console playthrough, but the genuine sense of progression and accomplishment as you go from apprentice blacksmith to skilled warrior was unlike any I've played in any game before. Additionally, the real-world approach helped a lot to justify the difficulty and make the learning of real historical characters fun. ALL OF THAT SAID, here are some issues that really jumped out at me through playing the game. Naturally, this is chock full of spoilers, so you have been warned!

    1) Really, the biggest one is the ending. I know that it's been said that this is the first two acts of a story, but seriously, after playing over a hundred and seventy hours of a game, I would love some actual closure to the story. I'm not saying everything needed to be wrapped up, but having the bad guy get away WITH the sword: Urgh. It left a bad taste in my mouth and made the whole thing feel a bit like a crazy long shaggy dog story.

    2) Making Henry turn out to be a noble didn't land well for me. I actually liked the fact that you were a nobody, and I much prefer the idea that a nobody can rise far above his station over the idea that Henry was special all along. Your milage may vary, but I much preferred Henry when he was really using the tragedy of Skalitz to remake himself, rather than the buried intimation that his lineage is part of what allowed him to be so successful. Additionally, it becomes clear that many people knew the secret, which again takes away from the "accomplishment" of gaining the respect of the lords in the first place. I mean, was I made Bailiff as a backdoor way of learning some lordly skills? :P

    3) In the Epilogue, Hans makes the offhanded comment that he's only known Henry a few weeks. This is a minor thing, but it really took me out of the game: I definitely spent more than a few months, especially doing the DLC content.

Anyone else have such gripes? If so, what were they? If not, why not?

How can I get back my save data?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 05:39 AM PDT

Windows 10! Failed. So I reinstalled it! Now, all my save files are gone. I wasn't far tho. I was right after my parents died, so I was told to train with Captain Bernard.

Is there a quest editor or save editor or something to get to where I was at?

    How are the mods going?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 07:24 AM PDT

So i have thought about getting back in the game and buying some of the dlc's after only playing it when it released.
I know this game have modding tools, but i dont see alot of them other than bow marker and easy lockpick, so i wanted to know if there are any good ones out there it should implement in my playthrough? :)

There's so many differing opinions on how to actually perform a riposte. What is the actual correct way? When I attack after a perfect block it acts as a normal attack not a riposte. Help is appreciated
