Anyone else care less about stats than making Henry look interesting? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:10 AM PST I prefer Henry to look really cool, even if that means slightly lower stats. Am I alone? [link] [comments]
If you notice someone has weird looking dice when playing, rob them! Posted: 06 Feb 2020 11:58 PM PST They will always have special dice and usually around 900 gold. Just wait for them to leave the table and be alone, bam quick gold and loaded dice to top [link] [comments]
Baptism of fire : One hell of a mission. Posted: 07 Feb 2020 11:02 AM PST So my story with this mission, as a low level Henry was so challenging, bug filled, frustrating and yet, rewarding I thought it was worth sharing my story. [Spoilers ahead] I'm new to the game and started playing it without any knowledge of its existence, the only person I would have seen play it is Call Me Kevin, so as you can imagine, I was Henry. The main quest line pulled me in and apart from the odd tournament, it's all I have done thus far. Imagine my surprise when I'm asked to scope out a bandit camp, when I couldn't even kill four bandits that went to kill the more simple man who once lived at the mill (I let them go, and lured them to a nearby town after attacking them, to let them fall to the swords of those more experienced than myself) Either way I scoped the place out poorly, had minimal reinforcements for the siege and hid with my bow, missing every shot and looting corpses. Towards the end of the siege, before the battle with runt, I took an arrow to the knee (literally) and was cut scened into combat with just enough health to be one hit every time. I spent about two hours, feebly poking runt in the head and running, to no avail. I attempted the bow technique, but when I can't hit a group of men, what use do I have aiming for a single mans moving head, no avail... and no potions. I resorted to reloading a checkpoint, it took me around 5 attempts to get to runt without taking damage in the way, a few attempts to kill runt and the game crashed. A few attempts more and again, the game crashed. I opened my other save with no health, after a further hour I beat him and, the game crashed... I was furious. I reloaded to the battle once more and upon setting the hay on fire, my game crashed, this happened three times. If I did get past the gay, the game would crash upon us advancing up the hill or when reinforcements would arrive. The game just kept crashing. I decided to load a game from way back, when I first arrived at Rattray, once that loaded I loaded the battle once more, fought my way to Runt with no crashes, but another arrow to the knee. I started with runt running towards me and I did not want to die here, something g told me that if I die, the bug would not let me ever kill runt. I quickly opened my inventory and put on the heaviest armour I had just looted, the battle began. My Henry is poor, weak, slow and naive. Just like me. I know how to dodge and parry, but not counter. To save the minimal stamina I had, I could only parry and attempt to poke. This had to be done for a few minutes. The tactic is, stand like an idiot, wait for the attack, parry and stab unless he's following up with a combo, in which case, parry and back the f up. I managed to rinse and repeat before finding out that Runt sort of cheeses himself by the beam and if you are on a slightly raised but of flooring, your pokes work really well, I managed to chain three quick pokes to his face, screen fades to dark. My cheeks clench. The game has not crashed, I'm greeted by the loading sign and I skip all dialogue, wake up I. Rattray and see "game saved" Every part of frustration id encounter has now returned in joy and I'm about to learn how to fecking play the game before I carry on with the main mission! Thanks for reading if you made it this far! And I'd enjoy reading anyone else's journey on this mission, or any others. TL;DR : I managed to finally beat runt with a bad Henry, after multiple crashes. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Feb 2020 10:26 AM PST Just restarted a hardcore playthrough because I had failed a bunch of quests that were time sensitive and because the game took a sudden 180 in difficulty going from very hard (I sucked at the combat) to way too easy. (I'm not really sure how it happened but my thinking is that plate armor is just really OP) Anyway, I started a new run and selected all of the negative perks and so far it feels pretty good. After some reading online it looks like the vanilla end game just gets easier and easier and if possible, I'd like to stop that from happening. I checked out some mods over at nexus and none of them seem to be up to date with KCD's latest patch. Any tips for preventing the game from becoming too easy? Perks I should maybe ignore? Mod's I could apply? At the moment the only busted perk I see is the human dustbin perk so I'm purposely going to ignore it. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Feb 2020 12:42 AM PST I am absolutely in love with this game! I haven't been this immersed in an rpg since Morrowind! The world feels very authentic, but am I the only one missing children running around the towns? It feels void without! [link] [comments]

Why do I lose reputation when no one sees me killing? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 07:19 AM PST So I go around stealth killing Talmberg soldiers, no one sees me killing them, I put the corpse where I don't think NPCs walk, yet I get a reputation penalty. The penalty happens some hours after the kill. Anyone knows why this happens? My theory: They see me before the kill, notice that a mate is gone, and put 2 and 2 together, but I don't think the system is that advanced. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Feb 2020 04:27 PM PST So, I played this game when it came out, took a break, then came back to it this week. I came across the custodian and remembered how much I hated him the first time I played. I tried to kill him just like everybody else did but I wasn't able to. So I googled it and apparently nobody was able to kill him. So, I did the next best thing. I knocked him out and robbed him of his valuables at night in the wide open. Instead of getting thrown in jail after he invites Johanka back to his place, I just stayed out of his way. I got lucky to where Johanka and the other guards were walking away and I kept talking to him. He left the little makeshift hospital and was alone. So, I snuck up behind him and was allowed to knock him out. I stole all his valuables and trunk key and robbed him. After a while I came back and was no longer able to enter his house. I wanted to see if I could rob his 1.1k Groschen item from him so I had to kill his scribe to get the key off him. So I unlocked the door, walked as fast I could past the door guard and up the stairs. Now, in previous runs to rob the custodian in his own home, there was always a guard sleeping in the 2nd floor that would catch me. So, when I ran up the stairs I immediately knocked the guard out in his sleep. Then, somehow, I was able to knock out the front door guard when he came chasing after me (I snuck behind him). Then, the custodian came in. I talked with him and he somehow wasn't mad at me for intruding into his home anymore. While he was busy examining the knocked out bodies, I snuck behind him and knocked him out. When I went up to the custodian.... the prompt for me to kill a knocked out enemy appeared. HUH?! I jumped on that train as fast as I could. I stole his valuables, looted his house, and got out of there. I paused the game two minutes after doing this and immediately came here. I don't know if anyone else was able to do this on PS4. I'll try to go back to his house and get screenshots. I think I was able to capture the video of me doing it on my PS4, but I'd have to double check the capture. Tl;dr - I murdered 3 other people in cold blood to gain safe access to the Custodian's house and was somehow able to kill him. Update: here's the video of me doing it. Can just skip to the end to see me actually killing him but the whole video is actually the set up of it. Killing The Custodian [link] [comments] |
