Is this game a success? How much has it sold?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 12:25 AM PST

Just picked it up last month and so far I have over 100 hours and still not done with it. I'm in love with this game, it brings me that feeling of playing The Witcher 3 for the first time again. So I want to know if it's doing well.

This sub only have 80,000 subscribers, which is very few imo. Is this game a success? I really want the dev to know that they have done an exceptional job, considering that this is pretty much an indie title

Can this game be beaten with minimal/no swordplay?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 01:32 AM PST

I know there's a lot of complaints about the combat system, and the general response is to practice. I have done a fair amount with Bernard and my sword skill is something like 11 or 12.

But I'm on PC using a mouse, and I find it really frustrating to perform any kind of combos, let alone any kind of pre-meditated move because even the slightest movements of the mouse move the combat cursor all over the compass. In combat, I'm trying to strafe while continuing to get a fix on the enemy, which is very hard to balance with sword position.

But hey, I abso-fucking-lutely love this game, and want to keep going, so I've worked around a lot of ordinary combat situations, and have actually gotten past Pribyslavitz using mostly stealth, bow, and speech/charisma.

It's honestly been a lot of fun playing that way, but, with minimal spoilers, how likely is this to be a long term road to success?

Is it time for an updated FAQ?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 02:41 PM PST

Seems the game's been out long enough now that the FAQ doesn't really apply. It looks like it was created during the kickstarter campaign and is answering questions about the development of the game. There's a lot of requests from beginner players requesting "tips on starting out" and such that I think the FAQ would be useful for in pointing new users to.

    Just my two cents.

Failed the whole DLC? (Band of bastards) (spoiler)

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 04:13 AM PST

    Hey

So I was just doing the third mission of the dlc (a tight spot) where you get ambushed at the river. You only get about a minute before the quest fails and half the band dies. I noticed the mission failure icon while running away with the survivors, but now the quest has disappeared completely and the camp has gone too!

Is this normal or bugged? I don't see how I could have done anything differently, there was nowhere near enoughh time to save everyone and kill all the bandits

Can i transfer my saves between Royal and "normal" edition? Do mods work on both versions?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 07:52 AM PST

Basically Title im thinking about buying the royal edition but i dont want to restart my saves. Or is royal edition just a patch download?

    Trader wealth issues

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 07:37 AM PST

    Hello ,

A while ago i started playing and as i got further into the game i expected to get richer.. Well, one main thing is keeping me from getting rich (well a couple are, but some are my fault)

I decided to try alchemy to make some cash with potions. i kept selling to the potion guy in Rattay. But his wealth did not go up much. he might have gone up to 500 at some point (normal is 250), but i go away for a big quest for a few ingame days and hes back at 250. The armor merchant is at 2K which is nice, but he wont buy potions so its useless

Am i doing something wrong here? My reputation with the guy is 82, same as the armor merchant. I have only haggeled to give people discounts for a while now. If i cant get this guys cash up, i dont know how to get my money in.
I did start selling to a normal trader who buys pretty much anything, so i can sell to him once he stocks up a bit.. he seems to be at 1.2k now. Can anyone explain why the Apothecary wealth is not increasing though? :(

ps, the other money issue comes mainly from repairs. i have not been repairing my own armors yet, and some armor pieces cost over a 1000 in repairs now.. so i gotta work on that.

Sitting at the dice table should count as carrying a torch

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 03:33 AM PST

Its just a bug i noticed. I was playing the dice minigame and the guard arrested me because i wasnt carrying a torch(it went dark during the game). I wasnt able to go into my inventory and i was sitting right next to a torch. So yeah it would be nice if there was a quick fix because i imagine that shouldnt be that hard to fix but idk.

Next to godliness, can't find Capon at bath...

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 05:16 AM PST

Ok so I bought the game a few days ago, had the next to godliness quest, but kept doing other stuff in the game.

I think I've looted the "hans capon keys" like 24 of them at once, and looted the picher BEFORE getting the quest.

Many times I went back to the bath at 20, 21, 22, 23h, the door is open with the girl standing in front of the bath but hans is never here ( his horse is there tho).

Tried to go back to the cellar, I can still find the guard ( which is in pyjamas now), loot some 32+ keys on him, with only 2 discution choices : either he throw me in jail or he just get me outside of the building

I can't look the wine of the barrel...

    WHAT DO ???

Does KCD take advantage of controller force feedback?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 11:19 PM PST

I am on PC with an Xbox360 controller. There's no rumble, but if force feedback is supported for another controller it might be possible to use an emulator to get the 360 controller FF working.

    More content

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 11:28 AM PST

So I've just finished the game, all the main quests that is, and I am wondering if any of the DLCs are worth getting, because I'm almost addicted to the combat in this game. Also, is there any news on a kcd 2?

Doggone! Any way to leave the pooch for a few days?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 04:49 PM PST

So I've been reading about the dog companion, and was wondering if it will suit my (Henry's) play style. Some people seem to love it. Others note that it gets in the way a lot.

I read there is a command to get it to 'stay', but can you get rid of it rehome it set it free if you don't like it? Even just taking a break from it for a few days?

I'm not sure I want to commit to a dog for a whole play through. cat lover confirmed
