    How do you read?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 09:05 AM PST

I've learned how to read from the scribe, but now I have all these books and I don't quite know what I have to do to level up with them.

    1. Is it enough to just skip through all the pages?
    2. Do I need to sit down to read, is sitting down to read more effective (or can I just do it standing up)?
    3. Is there an amount of time I need to spend on a page (again, can I just flip through all the pages and that is enough)?
    4. Can I improve my reading by rereading the same book (or does the book become useless after you read it, and thus you can just sell it after reading it)?
    5. What about reading the same story, but different book (i.e. I have 2 evil morals of Bohemia copies, does reading both increase reading, or only one of the 2 copies)?
    6. Outside of sitting vs. standing, are there any other conditions to reading (i.e. reading drunk, tired, hungry/full, do any of these conditions influence reading)?

In short, is reading just open a book, scroll through the pages, then sell the book since you've gotten the use out of it?

    Rattay Tourney failed issue

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 03:44 AM PST

Hello everyone, I have just started playing KCD. I am playing main quests and currently at "Keeping The Peace"

The problem is that if I complete "Keeping The Peace" quest then the other side quest "Rattay Tourney" is getting failed, I don't how this quest got started in the first place

"Keeping The Peace" has to be done within time 11:00 - 19:00 and I don't have enough time to improve my combat skills for the tournament, I am a new player and I can barely handle bandits

    What should I do ?

What I Would Like To See In the KCD Sequel, What Would You Like?

This is the first post I have written on here and the first gaming piece I have written in a while, on any platform. So I guess we are all here because of our mutual love for this game, I am currently on I think my fourth playthrough and for the first time I have just taken my time and explored the beauty of this, and sure, it is not without its issues that Warhorse never got around to fixing but hey, minor glitches and not game breaking so its easy to cope with. It is also great to know that a sequel is planned and as their first ever game did as well as it did I cannot wait to see what they surprise us with in the sequel.

At the moment I am currently rebuilding Pribyslavitz and am all the way through since I got to Awakening I have been thinking of what I would like to see in the sequel as opposed to mechanics.

Graphics: Although the game itself is beautiful I have always thought it would be even more beautiful with a graphics engine similar to Rockstars Rage Engine and pushing the envelope like it was done with RDR2. Imagine the view Henry and Teresa would have stared out to looking towards Ledetchko from Rattay on one of their romantic walks with something similar to Rockstars Rage Engine.

Building: I loved building up Pribyslavitz but what I found lacking was the option of personal choice of what we built, and also the fact that the area was not big enough, having a limited building area was a bit of a bug bear for me. What also has never made sense to me was the fact that there was no bath house to build, that to me would have been standard so I feel that in the very least it should have been implemented as a building option in a From The Ashes update. I also hope that in the sequel they provide us with more building options, similar to the building options in Fallout 4 so we could have options to build stone fortifications and towers and the ability to build castles etcetera, I just, personally feel that it could be a great option to allow the player more freedom and to enhance their imagination even further, I feel that was part of what made building in Fallout 4 such fun and so I do hope it is an option in the sequel. I just really hope they do not give us a fully built Pribyslavitz in the sequel.

Companion: When Daniel Vávra introduced us to the Woman's Lot dlc and he said that she would be able to help us (Henry) I was literally hoping that due to the vengeance she might have felt for the murder of her father and brothers (not forgetting Tinker) she would have offered to be Henry's companion at the completion of her story and so was a little dismayed when it didn't come to that, I guess what Daniel meant was she'd repair our clothes and give us gifts (such as bandages and and giving us Schnapps). It would be great to introduce a human companion system, such as Teresa because of the vengeance she feels, or Mateus (if you play or complete Johanka's story in A Woman's Lot but for that you would have to introduce an import file system like Mass Effect but from my communication with one of the team I do feel that is a route I feel WH could take with the franchise when I asked if we will be getting a New Game +). I think Mateus would make a great companion, especially if you can train him up or get him trained up or if WH give us a fully trained list of companions. I'm definitely not sure how I feel about either Matthew or Fritz and I wish there wasn't such a moral question on helping them but after what they did for Teresa for me it felt like I owed them, other than that I cannot stand their characters. But I would love to have the option of an optional human companion that we could instruct to head in a certain direction, to hold back, to wait or to engage.

Reworked Dog Companion Mechanic: Being a dog lover giving us Mutt was a great addition but I find him so annoying when he gets in the way and wish he was more like Dog Meat in Fall Out 4 and although I can't praise WH enough for their first achievement I am hoping they can take some lessons forward, such as the annoyance of Mutt getting in the way of either slashing or if you're treasure hunting and he gets in the way as you're about to pick up the treasure and ending up taking to him so bringing us back a dog companion would be great but with a reworked mechanic so he's not so annoying and more like Dog Meat in Fall Out 4.

Reworked Horse Mechanic: Being a horseman myself and knowing what horses are capable of the current horse mechanic I find is the most irritating thing in the game such as trying to gallop up a steep incline, not totally vertical because that would just be ridiculous but it annoys me that in the game what a horse can do in real life it can't do in the game so that is another thing I really hope they work on.

Recruitment: I feel it would be great to have a recruitment mechanic to recruit soldiers for Pribyslavitz, that I feel would be another great option for the game and added to that mechanic would be the ability to send out eight man patrols around Pribyslavitz Forest because no doubt that the region won't be entirely free of bandits and Cuman's but who knows where the story is going...

Skalitz: I know for a fact that I am not the only one who wants to reclaim and rebuild Skalitz and although it will not be fitting with what exactly transpired in history it will be nice to bend the rules a little in the name of artistic license.

So basically this is all I can think of for what I would like from the sequel, I hope I am not being too critical and I apologize if I am. Similarly I hope I am not expecting too much. I love the game, on a whole and its even outdone RDR2 for me which I also loved.

What would you want to see in the sequel?
