TIL that buying a horse before the hunt with Hans Capon leads to different cutscenes

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 02:52 PM PST

Hans acknowledges that you've got a horse in the dialogue, but not only that, it changes the cutscene when he's chasing the boar to Henry riding closely behind him, running into the cumans on the way.

I have plenty of hours in this game but I'd never noticed that until now.

Please unlock the frame rate on Xbox Series X and PS5!

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 08:59 AM PST

These consoles can run stronger than 30FPS. Do you think this community can garner the attention of developers to make this rather simple patch?

It would be highly appreciated and I think this could bring out the true beauty of this game.

How do you get out of the mine in The Family Silver without being seen by the guard?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 05:24 AM PST

I did get out of the mine successfully but i had to kill the guard with an axe i looted. Is there anyway to get out of the mine without doing so?

After Henry realized he could not afford a Bow

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 09:07 PM PST

He went gambling to try and get enough groshen, but ended only breaking even.
He may have drank to much. blacked out by the bath house outside Rattay. Woke up next to skeleton with a bag.

In that bag was a bow.

After stumbling down a hill and following a river. I ended up in Sasau.

Got a bed and slept it off.

Felling better and after a little schnapps to take the edge off.

I thought what the hell after finding that bow my luck must be up.

5 hours later and down 50 grochens. Can hardly walk attempt to follow my lucky gambler buddy to steal back my money I think he cheated.

Lost him in the inns barn can hardly see. Last thing remembered was waking up the stairs to my bed at the Inn.

Now it appears I am in the woods near Talmberg.

I I think Henry has a problem lol.

Now do i go back to Rattay and ask the bailiff about a job or deliver that ring to the miller's friend. Perhaps I can find some dice in Talmberg.

    Need Help Creating a Story

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 09:25 AM PST

I was playing KCD about an year and a half ago when my PC got a virus and had to reinstall windows to get rid of the virus. I forgot to backup my saves and lost all my progress. Now I want to play it again from start but not alone. I want to create a story from this game which doesn't exist in it. I want to create a new experience. I'll keep posting my progress daily (give or take) so you guys can enjoy it too. God be praised!

Some positives and negatives I got from playing this game, some questions and general stuff

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 10:28 PM PST

I love this game! Aside from it being an RPG (I love the genre), KCD has almost everything that should make me hate it, theoretically, and yet I found myself already 30hrs in in this game.

First of all, I always avoid games with first person perspective. I get terrible motion sickness from them and it usually takes out any enjoyment I have with the game. I've tried powering through Bioshock Infinite because I really want to play it and I only got horrible nausea from it so I stopped playing. This game is no exception, I had to play it on a small windowed form to not make me nauseous 30 minutes in. It takes out some immersion, but it's better than not being able to play altogether. There are so many camera movements just from sitting/getting up/sleeping but I think I can still handle it as long as it's not in a small room (too many rapid movements). This also affects (melee) combat unfortunately, and that brings me to...

I absolutely suck at combat but I enjoy learning and sparring with Capt Bernard, but I have problems with controls. I don't know if anyone has this issue, but for example does anyone else have difficulty reaching for the default block ('Q') button while moving around with WASD? I'm not even sure what should I change it to if I were to change the keybind, if I want to make it less awkward to press. Also are combos supposed to be hard to land? I stick with 3-keys sequence and even then I can't seem to do them reliably, feinting just never happens or I'm doing them wrong. Capt Bernard here parrying and blocking most of my moves. I also have trouble with directional slashing as I have difficulty making it go where I want it to. For example if I want the direction to go to southwest (in cardinal direction), it usually went to west instead and I (instinctively) move the mouse down but it doesn't always work. Is it just me? Combine this with enemy dodging/parrying I seem to either get wrecked or killed the enemy faster from button mashing before I could land a clean sequence. Funny that, I just learned combos with Capt Bernard and tried it on a bandit and he's killed from me fumbling to land a combo.

One thing I hate about the game is the save system. I get it's a love or hate thing but I'm generally not loving the save point mechanic, especially with how easy you are getting ambushed by bandits in this game. I wasn't aware that bandit encounters are randomized at first so I went my merry way exploring the world. I was met with 4 Cumans while on a trail and they obviously ganged me to death. Not really appreciating this as I don't really have lots of allocated time to play games to begin with and having to waste time catching up with my progress was not a fun experience.

But overall I'm liking the game so far, enough that I bother to play a first person game at all. I'm still fucking around in Uzhitz because I want to train Henry more first (I didn't really bother with his stats until I got to the raid in Neuhof quest). One more thing I love about the game is that they give you alternative ways to solve problems. For example I didn't know you could ask the guys to help you beat Kunesh in Skalitz. I was surprised because I didn't know you could do that. The same thing happens when pursuing Ginger after the Neuhof incident. And I was delighted when Henry got chewed out by Capt Bernard because I wandered off on my own and never reporting lol.

Does anyone just have the urge to goo full psycho and kill a whole town or is it just me? I feel like going into the monastery and stealth killing all the monks and I don't even know why.

What is your favorite difficulty overhaul/mods?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 06:07 PM PST

Over two years ago, I made a video demonstrating how abusable KCD's late-game combat mechanics were. I then made a fist-only version with the Harder Enemies mod.

I know the game was developed further, DLC was added, and more mods were introduced. I'm looking to get back into KCD and wondering what the best difficulty overhauls and mods might be. I'm not even necessarily looking for realism, just something that will maintain some difficulty throughout the game.

    How to enable console commands?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 05:08 PM PST

I've tried googling and noticed others having this difficulty with no actual solution put forth. When googling it appears that it is supposed to be auto-enabled, but my ~ key brings nothing up. Typing after pressing the button accomplishes nothing also. I have tried putting -devmode in the launch options but that isn't working either.

There was a post where someone made a user.cfg file with "sys_DeactivateConsole = 1" to disable the console and I tried making the file with the value as 0. It didn't work either.

I am using windows 10 if that helps.
